In Episode 54, the crew breaks down the erratic landscape of the 2026 sneaker resale market, digital culture, and personal financial cautionary tales. We dive deep into the technical flaws behind the latest Travis Scott raffle system, the ongoing Travis fatigue, and why Nike is aggressively dialing back production on the iconic Air Jordan 1 silhouette. The conversation shifts from high-stakes digital assets to real-world infrastructure as we analyze why massive streetwear conventions like Sneaker Con and Got Soul have transformed from authentic community swap meets into hyper-corporate reseller syndicates. Finally, we tackle the reality of implicit bias in premium retail environments, reflecting on personal experiences of profiling at high-end boutiques and car dealerships, balancing heavy cultural discourse with unfiltered commentary on hip-hop royalty, the NBA playoffs, and retro 1980s cinema.

SPEAKER_07

What a bunch of middle-aged people talk about shit that don't matter. Let's say you like, subscribe. I ain't scared. Like and subscribe on YouTube. Leave a comment on all of our social medias. And if you're listening to this on the podcast platform, please leave a review. If it ain't five stars. It's the energy is in New York right now, man.

SPEAKER_00

Like, energy.

SPEAKER_07

Shout out to everybody that's out there, especially that's in the streets touring these games, man. Be safe out there, man. Have fun, but be safe.

SPEAKER_05

Yep. We're already recording episode 54. Go next. Nick's in what? I say sweep. Go away.

SPEAKER_04

You said no way.

SPEAKER_05

No way.

SPEAKER_01

That's a bold claim, Cotton. Let's see if it works out for you.

SPEAKER_05

I ain't betting on it.

SPEAKER_01

They didn't blow him out of the water last night.

SPEAKER_05

So it's not basketball is a game of um runs.

SPEAKER_01

Here we go. Here comes the education. Here comes the education.

SPEAKER_05

You're the one who's sitting courtside at 76ers games for half of your life. So you can tell you know, you know that it's a game of runs. So if if the team is has momentum, they'll be good. Knicks have momentum. They took game one. Knicks have to be a good one. They're in this man's head. They've been in his head all year. And Wemby's an emotional player. Plus the fact that those Young Bulls, they don't even know what the hell they're doing. This is their first time. This is all their first times up in that bitch. What's the name? He's been to the conference finals, not the NBA finals, but conference finals a couple times. Brunson, right?

SPEAKER_01

Rewind this back for a minute. Did you just say you won't bet on it? Aren't you the gambler?

unknown

Right?

SPEAKER_05

I play blackjack and shit. I don't do that.

SPEAKER_07

Man, we all know his gambling stories, man. High risk, no reward. That's his strategy. Go on, go out broke.

SPEAKER_05

Nah, I'm technically I'm ahead as a career gambler, but yeah. Really? Career gambler.

SPEAKER_07

What's the stat line look like?

SPEAKER_05

I mean like 60,000 up.

SPEAKER_07

Shit. Okay. I mean, I can't argue with those numbers.

SPEAKER_05

That's somebody's uh annual salary, so yeah, but it it you know, you know it's a lot, it should be a lot more than I. Oh, we oh, we know your bank knows, wifey probably know. Bank don't know. It was all crypto and that or play money. That's the one thing about gambling online. If I don't know, Drew, uh neither of you gamble online, I'm assuming that. Nah, but I don't know. As big of a drug fan as you, I don't get it's like playing money. Like you literally, once you put the money through, it's gone. Like you, the only way you can touch it is if you take it out. So you have to, the more you get, the more you feel compelled to play. And as I was playing and blowing that 700, whatever thousand, it it didn't hit me until it was actually gone because I had taken out of you know, and I'm sitting like 150 at this point, and I'm like, I gotta win it back. I'm thinking I gotta get it back because I came from this. Now I have half of this, and then less that, and it's just bad, you know.

SPEAKER_07

That is people's 13th reason. Like, well, I should have seen it to see six figures, whether it's high six, low six, knowing that man, the little incidentals in my life that I could have taken care of with this, and it's just like it's gone, it's in the ether.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I know. I regret it every day. I cry, I still cry, I cry about everything, but I cry about that a lot.

SPEAKER_07

Hey man, it's June. Shout out Pride, but also shout out men's mental health awareness, and I'm glad that you admitted that for everybody. I mean, you know, I'm better, I'm more glad that you admitted it for yourself. That's what counts. And we're here to support you.

SPEAKER_05

I I thank you, thank you.

SPEAKER_07

Also, I would have nothing to do on weekend nights without this, so why not, you know?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Well, going back to the Knicks stuff, it's been wild out there, man. I've been seeing they got like little Knicks Laboo Boo fucking uniforms and shit. I seen that on my my my Instagram. I seen like everything, the whole New York is going crazy for this shit.

SPEAKER_07

I've seen like those androids, those Tesla robots dressed in four Knicks get on the corners and stuff.

SPEAKER_01

I've seen that too.

SPEAKER_07

Wow, wow. This is all the New York mayor's fault. He got voted into office, and now look how everything changed.

SPEAKER_05

You'd impeach him. The city's clean, they're not in the deficit anymore. The Knicks are winning. Everything's wrong.

SPEAKER_07

We you come to the show for H's political takes, his culture, and also his gambling advice.

SPEAKER_05

I love McDonough, my man. Uh but it's uh I haven't come on the show. You're a New York legend at this point. I wish. Legend. Anyway, we're here to talk about things like shoes and shit. What's going on in the shoe market? That's what should be the new name of the show, especially for those who like shoes and have a sneaker podcast.

SPEAKER_07

What the fuck is this shit? It's shoes and shit. Welcome, brother. I'm glad that you showed up and stuck around and left that comment.

SPEAKER_05

Somebody was just getting mad at us. That Drake shit last week. People were just mad. Like, why don't you talk about I don't know, brother?

SPEAKER_07

You're the king of engagement farm because a lot of these comments, visceral or not, man, you've been drawing them in. Well, no, I just yeah, because people just say dumb shit.

SPEAKER_05

Like us. No, I'm talking about the commenters. You made a valid point. Like, let these people live in this sphere. This thing hits good for the music and whatever. And people get in there, get off of Drake's dick, get off of Kendrick's dick. What was that one? Somebody said something, and then they got at Drew. Drew had no opinion. He's like, I didn't even listen to that album.

SPEAKER_07

I haven't listened to it yet.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I was like, what the fuck? Why are they getting Joe's like, why the fuck are you getting at him? You didn't say you didn't even listen to the album.

SPEAKER_07

Men are integral to the people. It's a lot about it. It's the white I was hyper. No one said that. I just said, hey man, it's more interesting with them around. Yeah. And then him and another guy start going at it to the point where I was irrelevant. They just started going back and forth at each other. I was like, what is happening?

SPEAKER_05

Mm-hmm. This is this is bad. Anyway, well, actually, let's start with like pickups and stuff, because people, you know. Did you guys buy new shoes? I ain't got nothing. Wait, nobody got the pink shoe. I'm that's the big hair.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, me too. Okay, no, I got Nigel's. I don't know if I mentioned that last time, but uh no, you I thought we got them um aftermarket. Homie hooked up.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Retail? Or you just a little pretty much retail. What do you pay for? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not regretting overpaying. I just got my pair from uh overseas. They came from like Europe or something. Are they legit? Actually overpaying. They're from Ghost. They've been sitting overseas in a lot of places. Yeah, you pay that tariff though if you order it off a website. You can't I don't even think you could order it off a website, right?

SPEAKER_07

Most I know at one point Nike had a specific policy where their partner stores, like their first party partners, that's not a resale platform, you could not ship their product overseas.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know when that fell apart because I noticed a lot of people get stuff from overseas stores like Foot Patrol and um Beaston. But at one point that was a thing. Okay. But like you said, the tariffs, man. Let's say you get lucky for Nessa site, you're getting the Nigel's for what retail was what, 230?

SPEAKER_05

Oh no.

SPEAKER_07

It's like 230, D Payers. It's more shipping, and then you hit the tariff fees at that point. You might as well get them from a local reseller.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, reselling. I mean big time. Same with the Travis Scott's.

SPEAKER_07

So I don't know that we now that we're talking about Travis, I know we're going pickups. Anybody here get them?

SPEAKER_05

I so I have an incomplete order. They're saying that some people who didn't get a notification might get theirs. They're just not shh, they didn't say if you got them or not. So I have my fingers crossed because I don't remember what credit card I put it on. I have like six different credit cards attached to these things. So I was looking to see if there was a charge on hold or whatever on a couple of them. I don't know. So we'll see. I might have gotten them, but I doubt it.

SPEAKER_07

This is kind of a redundant question. I'm pretty sure longtime listeners are like, why is he even asking? You got a plan for him? Like you gonna wear him or me?

SPEAKER_05

I'd wear those. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I'm still gonna answer it again.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'm waiting for the price to come down a little bit. They've they've come down about a hundred bucks off the 400 something that they were at when the hype was there. But I don't nobody knows. Oh, go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say, then you got the release today that you know the phone posit like vaporized off of every freaking site.

SPEAKER_05

They probably make 10 pairs, that's why.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, no, they didn't make a lot of those. Um I'm I'm I guarantee you they make a lot of those.

SPEAKER_07

I at one point they were rumored to be super limited and they were AJ exclusive. Even my local store had a raffle for one, man. They just made them in abundance compared to what they were projected to make. Did you go for them?

SPEAKER_05

I don't mean people want them, though. Did you get you didn't get them on sooner?

SPEAKER_01

I entered like six raffles, tried on sneakers, and didn't hit on the China shop.

SPEAKER_05

Definitely get them on Goethe or StockX, they will be $150.

SPEAKER_01

No. Well, I'm gonna wait, wait a couple weeks, but I wait a couple of months, man.

SPEAKER_05

Don't even I have patience now. I don't go. I mean, the Nigel thing, knowing that's a good investment shoe, because everybody who's gotten them now is like, yo, these are really nice. Uh, do you like them? I I like them.

SPEAKER_07

I like them. Um, I'm coming from the perspective of not having fire red fours because a lot of people's telling me, just get fire red force, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Aftermarking on fire red fours is like the same price as these, so I might as well get something newer. And they don't say bike air, and they don't have the little check mark on the front. Yeah, all the things that matter you want the little check mark. That that matters. The bike air is cool. Somebody notices that you're like, yo.

SPEAKER_07

Nah, they're definitely cool. That's because you're a hype beast. But the thing that gets me when people see a similar shoe is like, these are too similar to the Fire Red Force. This is a waste of money. And I'm like, you're talking to people in the culture who will buy a re-release of a shoe like five years after it came out. There's one thing to buy a shoe that looks like it, and like, bro, we chronically buy the exact same shoe over and over again.

SPEAKER_05

Reimagined that Nike set that precedence. Oh, we're just gonna age the soul a little bit. I mean, the culture of retro, sometimes it doesn't even age the soul.

SPEAKER_07

They might use cheaper materials in worse shape and be like, here y'all go. And people like, I'm here for them. Like, like you, like you said, for better or worse, least deny just give you a little bit of extra oomph. You know what I'm saying? There's enough differences that if you did want both, you could have both. Yeah. A lot of people was going crazy for the apparel, too. I was shocked. The apparel's nice.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't want to kind of get a pair of those pants or pants in the apparel. T-shirts are right.

SPEAKER_07

Uh, Drew, you a Viking guy, man. I'm surprised. You know Nigel not out here, like you and Stove guy clips on the album, brick after brick.

SPEAKER_01

There's only so much Nike merch I can I can rock. I just I don't need any more Nike tees. Said no one ever, right? Like I'm probably be buying some SB t-shirt next week or some shit.

SPEAKER_07

SB Air Force One's tomorrow. Shoe in your shot. I hit on CCS Plus. So question CCS Plus, is that like a subscription or is that just standard emails?

SPEAKER_01

Subscription.

SPEAKER_07

I forget what it is.

SPEAKER_01

It's super cheap. Now it's like for a year you pay some cheap thing and you get a you get to enter a different raffle, and uh and you get you get it a day earlier.

SPEAKER_07

So yeah, because I've heard a lot of people have success with CCS Plus.

SPEAKER_01

It's I've I've been a paid subscriber for a couple years, and literally this is the third time I've ever hit on anything. So yeah, I I haven't had good luck, but that's just me.

SPEAKER_07

See, something like that would be enticing, but I've got two local skate shops now within five minutes of each other. So if I don't, it's literally been instances where I was talking to one of the employees at one of them today. He's like, we'll have a line. The shoes will sell out, so stick his head out and be like, hey, the other store opens in about an hour since you didn't hit here, try there, and people will come back on and be like, hey man, I got them from there. So, and I got a good rapport with them. So if I really, really need something, I'll like drop the favor button, be like, hey man, I need these blue tiles, bruh.

SPEAKER_01

I wish I had a skate shop closer to me. So that's kind of why I I there is a skate shop, it's just kind of out of the way. So how far? Probably, I don't know, 45 minutes to an hour, which isn't terrible. I mean, I'm willing to do the drive, but especially for certain releases that are too hype, I'm just not driving. And they don't get a ton of inventory or a ton of stock. So see, um, you know, Carpet opened up their flagship store.

SPEAKER_07

That's about the distance of that for me, but that's such a big store, and it's got an installation for like food and drink, and it's the it spot for people to collab and talk and hang. See, that'll be worth the 45. But like just to go drop a raffle slip and pray to God I get something, I'm like, oh, that's then having to go back to get it once you hit if you do hit.

SPEAKER_01

I'd prefer to support local skate shops. I just this one's just not. I haven't had any success. I've done it a bunch of times, and every time I've taken an L.

SPEAKER_07

Shit, plus we're getting old, man. Dedicating a 45-minute drive to nothing that's not necessary for life or for our families, bro.

SPEAKER_01

I'm over. And they get a little sneaky. I could appreciate the idea, but not every release, they make you buy merch. So you have to buy merch to get into the raffle, which I understand, but on the flip side, I'm like, that's from early 2000s.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I know a lot of stories in the area was all like, hey, you want these shoes guaranteed? Yeah, you gotta buy like you know how Jordan Retros will have a corresponding Jordan one color way back in the day. It's like, hey man, you can get these fours, but you gotta buy the matching ones. You're like, man, fuck. H you relatively quiet. I know that wallet got some pickups. Supreme has dropped.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, I did have some pickups. Um I just I bought uh the night, um, the Jordan sweatsuit, one of the tracksuit, one of the tracksuits. I got the white one, the white one, yeah, or the baby blue one, whatever. I don't know. You didn't like the I like the tracksuit. No, the black one was tough.

SPEAKER_01

My bad. This did come in from their last release.

SPEAKER_04

Dang, what's that? The Jordan Six Rings hat.

SPEAKER_01

It looks like six rings, yeah. It looks like all Jordan's championships, but it says Supreme all over. I don't know. It's weird. And I actually don't say Chicago Bulls on it. No, they just say Supreme. So I don't know if it's it says champion, but I don't know if it's bulls related, but they're like stickers. They're not embroidered.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, they're not embroidered, huh?

SPEAKER_01

So I don't know if I like that to be honest.

SPEAKER_05

Wait, uh, let me see the inside. It's hot.

SPEAKER_01

It's not embroidered.

SPEAKER_05

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say they're shiny. They're shiny.

SPEAKER_05

Shiny. Yeah, I like this. Yo, this tracksuit looks exactly like the one from last season. Or no, two last spring summer, where they came out with the yellow and all that stuff. It's the same, like the piping tracksuit with the pipes. I want to get the black one because the black one looks kind of fire with the red Jordan man. And the 3M on it hits.

SPEAKER_07

It's cool, but like it's very much uh if Nike would have released this, he could have copped it at the outlet without the co-branding.

SPEAKER_08

Uh yeah, probably.

SPEAKER_07

Lately, when Supreme does a Jordan collab, or even when they do a Nike collab and the shoes don't release the same week. Are they putting out a shoe? The last couple Jordan drops they have not, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think they're doing the first one.

SPEAKER_05

No, they did not. Uh what else? Oh, that shorts too. They all everything sold out, it looks like now. It's all gone. What that R guys are? Doug, I went back in. Um, I bought I had both the black and the blue and white sweatsuit in the cart. And the black one sold out instantly, and then I I I had time. I just was like, all right, let me go see if there's anything else I want. I came back and my shit was still in there, and I ended up just getting the white and the blue.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, you're ready for that full head-to-toe fit. You're ready for the unknown.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, honestly, unking out, man. I'd sell it. I like because I've realized that those blue pants that come with it. I got a pair of um, I got that whole what was it called? Um, what's that shop in Florida that in Miami? Who? Soulfly? Soulfly. Soulfly put out a similar Jordan set with the same color pants. And I didn't realize that. And I have those sitting in my closet. I never wore them. So I'm like, ah, and I got another pair of plants that's blue and white or whatever. So I'm like, yeah, maybe to sell these. Depends on what they're going for aftermarket. Um other than that, I didn't what the I didn't buy many, I didn't buy any shoes. This is rare, man. Not even though I mean, yo, I was those Travis's, I was freaking out. I bought a I spent a hundred dollars on a VPN to get them shits because Drew was like, get a VPN. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I said get you could use a free VPN. You're the one that went out and spent a hundred dollars.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, yeah. And that VPN fucked up my computer all week, weekend and week. So like I guess I come in and start working on Monday, and it's blocking everything I'm trying to do. You know, I work in like internet avenue. I didn't know it at first, and I'm like, why the fuck is not nothing? Like these admin. Oh, everything is I was like, oh, this VPN shit is on my desktop because I was I installed it on the desktop, and then I got through on the site on the desktop. But it was weird. The first time I got through was on my tablet, and then they ended up fixing the rap. But that's all bullshit. The child the controversy behind that's interesting.

SPEAKER_07

You saw those videos for some shoes. Crazy. Jumping off the window for the jumping.

SPEAKER_05

And was no, there's no high like now. Everybody's like, okay, it's a pink shoe. Everybody likes it now. You know, these under the back of something. Yeah, but like, I what do you think these are? Do you think these will go under 300?

SPEAKER_03

No, nah.

SPEAKER_07

People just gonna hold the hold the market. I mean, the reception of them are generally positive. If anything, they'll shoot up around Valentine's Day, fall ahead ass. People that want to take like the pink and red picks with their partners.

SPEAKER_06

I mean, it's a tragedy.

SPEAKER_07

It's it's a solid investment if that's what you're into, or people keep forgetting, even though Travis is dropping one after one after one, and people with pairs or people who've been following it since the beginning are sick of it. There's some people who have struck out every time, and this is their first one. Some people who didn't hit it all that's like contemplating aftermarket also, oh, I can't wait for the next one. So, as much as we quote have Travis fatigue, I'm sick of the one lows. We gotta remember, like, in this culture, there's still some people that aren't as fortunate as others, whether it's because of budget or availability, both. You know what I'm saying? So I think they're gonna hold true in the long run. Come back with Travis you besides his offshoots 270s here, trainer once here, had tanked.

SPEAKER_01

The the canaries, I guess you could say, kind of not typically I wouldn't say tank, but even the medium olives kind of spiked, then dropped hard, and then came back up.

SPEAKER_05

If you're look basing it on previous Travis releases, yeah. Yeah, but even though the Velvet Browns, the Velvet Browns are in there too.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, like Velvet Browns, Canaries and Black Phantoms for a time, I think were some of the worst received.

SPEAKER_05

But if you're now they used to be black phantoms, the black phantoms uh ended up being near 700 at one point. They they because the color, it's fire in person, but uh obviously neutral color, the browns, the browns and the canaries seem to be kind of in that 300 to 400 range.

SPEAKER_07

And it's a lot of people that took the browns and like treated the suede and did different things to it, and it really made them stand out. Like yeah, I think with a little bit more insight, or if they messed around with a little more, or at least marketed that hey man, if you tweak the suede or brush the suede to do this, this would make it look like they would have been higher. But Travis making money hand in foot. He was just in that new World Cup commercial, if y'all saw that. No, which is dope. I think the shift gears, this cryo shot run that Nike's doing and these World Cup kits, they letting their collaborators from those respective countries put their spin on it. Man, I thought that was cool. I need that Virgil USA kit. When's that dropping? The six. I'll be there. I know you will. I know you're gonna get the can in the one because it's Nocta.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, it's a Nocta?

SPEAKER_07

Are you serious? I'm definitely.

SPEAKER_01

What Nocta? Oh. He was like a dog. OVO the can. OVO? Drake? He was like, oh? Drake? You opened up the treat jar or treat jar.

SPEAKER_05

Speaking of Drake, what do y'all think of Hove coming out looking like uh Easy E? Phone thugs in Harmony.

SPEAKER_07

But one thing I'm really tired about is the this or that. Like people are saying Drake could never, and people in the interim are saying Hove could never. Look, we don't have to downplay facts from these two dudes to justify who we like more. Man, if you're not a Drake fan, that's cool. If you're not a Jay fan, that's cool. But like I'm hearing people say Drake ain't Jay-Z never really had had it in the game. I'm like, like a man is a multiple billion.

SPEAKER_08

What?

SPEAKER_05

No, but people don't the people who make that critique are people who weren't there. Because yeah, it's one thing to say that uh Eminem or DMX or all these different people ran hip-hop at some point, but Jay-Z during his run was the most consistent. Like he had literally and Drew, you were there because he was in Philly, you know, the freeway and all that. From like 1997 to 2005. Yeah. Like even after like 2003, too, and up until 2005 when he put out Kingdom Come. I think you know, that's still that sold a lot of records. But he was every year, so that's what, 10? That's almost eight, nine years. Now, Drake's had a better run with music and stuff, but but Jay, like those summers, the tours, he was all over the place. I'm talking east and west coast.

SPEAKER_07

You can one dude was telling me, because I was just reading some of the stuff. One dude was all like, Where's where's Jay-Z's uh Michael Jackson collab? I'm like, you mean that time he brought him out on Summer Dam?

SPEAKER_05

He does have a Michael Jackson, he has a real Michael Jackson collab. No, Girls Girls Remix. It never it was a bonus track, it hit it because they didn't um yeah, they it's it's it's from 200 um one. Yeah, he has a song of Michael Jackson.

SPEAKER_07

I'm just I'm just like the the two sides are arguing like the same marriage, bro. Like, what's up with that weird afro? And then Jay-Z fans were coming out with that picture of Drake with uh the things in his hand, yeah. And they're like, What's up with this afro? And I'm just like, guys, can we just like enjoy this music, fam? Like, it's it's tiring at this point. It's like somebody said something about somebody, somebody said something bad. Like, okay, bruh. Like, was the bars hard? Did you like it? To try to dismantle each one of those people's careers. Yeah, I never heard nobody the cook out say put on that Jay-Z, or yeah, when Drake, if Drake came out in the in the physical media era, he would be shit. I'm like, bruh, enough. Like, both of y'all enough.

SPEAKER_05

He was in the physical media and he did sell a bunch of records 2009, 10. It's fucking hip hop royalty.

SPEAKER_01

Uh like, seriously. I don't know. You don't like, yeah, regardless.

SPEAKER_07

Lil Wayne is Drake's idol, and I'm like, when Lil Wayne was in crippling debt, Jay-Z like ran the check, bro. Like, everyone's like, he's a prolific hater. I'm like, this man got 21 Savage's citizenship reinstated. Like, but these two men just not feeling each other. Whether it's like there was always a bit of tension there. It was always tension, bro. It's it reminds me of LeBron and Jordan. Like, one generation's goat is Jay-Z, the next generation's goat is Drake, but like, we can't act like both of those people then do incredible things.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Yeah, I know. And I yeah, I appreciate both. Like Jay was Jay was one of my favorites. And actually, as a as a person behind the scenes of music, Dame Dash, his fall from Grace has been epic and sad and comedic and all that. Like, you see his interview yesterday where he was talking about.

SPEAKER_07

Well, the craziest thing about that interview is like somebody was in the background moving around, and everyone kept trying to figure out if it was a rat or a human being. Like, people was not even paying attention to his discourse.

SPEAKER_05

What do you say? Is his breast smell like doo-doo and big rat? Jay-Z, he said that about. I was like, why is this man?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's some that's some like yeah, bro. I'm trying to destroy you as a person, bro. I'm not even trying to spit facts, I'm just trying to talk shit.

SPEAKER_05

But the thing is, that in that era, they used to talk shit like that to each other, to each other's faces, right? I mean, Jay probably did have bad breaths, yeah. Yeah, I mean, probably somebody said Jay-Z had bad breath, IRL. Yo, real talk. I had this weird thing about Beyonce, like she was on my on my list about like no, she was on my like, yo, I got a big crut. This is like high school. No, I'm just saying, I I was like, There's gotta be something wrong with her. Like, she got hot breath or something. And then, like, when you hear her talk, she got like a little bass in her voice and stuff like that. And I can I can be like, I'm just like, nah, there's gotta her breath gotta be bad. There's gotta be something wrong with her.

SPEAKER_07

Well, this is fun, as y'all will now know. Our podcast is gonna be destroyed. Me and Drew will be launching a spin-off platform for shoes and shit.

SPEAKER_02

Launching both 2026.

SPEAKER_07

Beehive. You think the beehive will come after us?

SPEAKER_05

Man, the beehive have come after people for less, bruh.

SPEAKER_07

Yo, they destroyed Kerry Hilson's career. R.I.P. Man, Carrie Hilson's most relevant moment in my life is when Kanye stepped on that video with them easy uh easy ones. That knock you down video. Yeah, I'm sure the song is a legit classic, but when Kanye was on that scene, I was like, what I thought I thought it was the Louis Vuitton's. Nah, it was uh black pink easy ones. Are you sure? Oh, bro. That was back in 2010 or nine? Bro, I'm willing to bet the farmer. Yeah, that was a good one. Because Louis Vuitton came out before that.

SPEAKER_05

Easy one. Um that shit about to be boom. Cause he was wearing high heels in that joke. Let me see if they have image. Oh, you're right. Yeah, he's wearing them in the thing, the black ones. The patent leather joints.

SPEAKER_07

That's when the sneaker rollouts was something different, bro. Like it was Nike would show an image and the internet would just do its thing after that. Yeah, but for real, for real, can you wear these now? Like, like actually, they're hard, like anytime somebody wears a pair, you'll notice a pair that has some wearability left because they'll be priced way higher than a pair that's crumbling because of that Jordan 3 tooling.

SPEAKER_05

And that strap, the strap, because well, the ones on the at least the Red Octobers and the other the other ones. Yeah, those are always breaking off. They broke on Casa Nat when he was on uh on Shannon Sharp, yeah. That's uh Shane, man. Come on. Those are fire. I like her heels. You would. I wouldn't wear them, but I'm saying I would I would hope not, brother. Gotta like a good heel on a lady.

SPEAKER_07

What do you say? I said you can get a pair for wifey, you can go on uh what's that place where people sell luxury vintage?

SPEAKER_05

The real real?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, the real real. I know they had a physical store in your hometown of Nueva York. Nueva York? Yeah, good.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't know that either.

SPEAKER_07

When are you going up there, bro? Celebrate with the Knicks.

SPEAKER_05

Might be up there in July. Damn, Glow Troy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I'll go up to Cleveland next week. What's in Cleveland? What would he do with a client? I'll say getting some getting some sound lebrons. Never been to Cleveland.

SPEAKER_05

So it should be a fun experience. I'm not gonna stay at the Intercontinental. You might run into LeBron, you know, go visit a school, make a hefty donation. I doubt he goes out there much anymore. I mean, I know he goes there. They still got a house out there. I wonder.

SPEAKER_07

Man, LeBron probably got a house in every state, man. When he goes to play a game, he probably just Milwaukee. Try to get Yannis.

SPEAKER_04

Millewake.

SPEAKER_07

Melewacy. I I forgot. Speaking of the truth, I forgot Giannis had a signature shoe until I went to the mall the other day. They're on like eight now, right? Something like that. And he got a side series. He got a takedown model.

SPEAKER_05

He ties these things. Drew, you got English?

SPEAKER_01

Drew said, I'm thinking of people. I don't think I have any. I'm trying to think. I got a lot of LeBrons. The Giannis one I liked.

SPEAKER_07

I did like that, man. I'm not gonna lie. Like, I know a lot of people at the time. I was still working at Nike. They were like, do you want those? I'm like that backwards foosh before the Travis hype and that outsole that was patterned after a rose. Man, they those were hot to me.

SPEAKER_05

I like uh I like the coming to America ones. I always was tempted to buy them because they were so cheap after the fact. And I was like, eh, never mind. Yeah, they try to really push that story.

SPEAKER_07

Young is his favorite movie is coming to America because he too is from Africa or Nigeria or he's from Greece. Mother's White, whatever. You know, because coming to America is a story about a man who came to America. This natural storytelling.

SPEAKER_05

They ran out of stories. They ran out of stories. They're just making shit up now.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, like how about you let the collaborator tell a story? How about you just go use color theory and design and be like, man, here's a dope shoot. The end, bruh. Like, I don't even bother reading the write-ups. I know they got this new thing on sneakers where they first off they hyped it up. Like every so often we'll do a breakdown of releases, so it takes all the guessing games out of it. You know the story behind it, you know when they drop, you see high quality images and video. They've done it like twice, and for half of the shoes on there, they're hot dog water. Like, I didn't need to hear the story of a GR pair of Voltoros, Nike. Like, stop. But it's it's hilarious. They'll just run this shit through like all prompts and be all like, Did you know? One time Michael Jordan stubbed his toe in the game, and the Bulls used a specific type of band-aid. So on Halloween, the Michael Jordan bloody foot with the mummy wrap. What the fuck? Stop. Matter of fact, I'm surprised they didn't use that story. You know, when he squeezed in those Jordan 1s at Madison Square Garden for his last game.

SPEAKER_05

Was that the one where he dropped 55?

SPEAKER_07

I can't remember how much he dropped, but like I'm I'm waiting for a Jordan 1 with the toe being red, a Chicago Jordan one with the toe being red.

SPEAKER_05

I can't believe that his sh do you believe that story? Because they couldn't have that shoe is not that uncomfortable. I could hoop in some ones.

SPEAKER_07

I think the issue was they were a pair from years ago that he still had. And he was, but like Mike knew he was gonna be playing his last game of the guard. Now he could have whipped him up a fresh pair of ones. But like man, here forward.

SPEAKER_05

He just put on a pair of ones they had in his closet.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, he had a dead stock pair of ones from their last retro, and he was like, This is my last game of the guard, and I'm gonna lace these up. And I think the reason his foot bled was because they were too small.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, that'll that'll make especially when you got you definitely have like corns and shit. So probably got a blister in a pocket.

SPEAKER_07

If that's I know they're and we can get into this. I know they're about to roll back the production of ones. I saw that they didn't use that as a story. They probably will now. Yeah, make some Jordan 1 Chicago's with the toe box being made of suede to resemble like bloody bandages or something. Bloody bandage ones. Here we go. That's one for you. Hit up Frank Cook. Go ahead, bro. Run that one, bro. Do you I have a question for y'all?

SPEAKER_05

Do you think got soul is a psyop? What's got soul?

SPEAKER_07

Oh, the convention thing. I think it's a psy-op. Um the last time I heard about got soul was when they was trying to get perfect parents at Joe to have like a Yu-Gi-Oh battle with their shoes and shit.

SPEAKER_05

I don't understand. Okay, so SneakerCon's been around for decades, right? Like maybe at least 20 years, right? Yeah, I would say maybe almost 20 years, right? I think it's been around for a while. I'm gonna say 2010-11-ish. Okay, 15. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got so came around after the pandemic, and they're bigger than them now, and all the celebs go through there. I see what you're saying. So you're saying they're paying for that. I think they, yeah, I mean, that's part of it. But also So I went down a rabbit hole. So I don't know. I sent the video to you guys in the group chat. So let me put this on screen because I got fascinated. Uh, they had this uh, they went to this guy's sneaker collection in the UK. This dude right here. Yo, you should watch. I don't know if you guys watched this video. Worth the watch. His sneaker collection. Uh, let me see. Are you the crazy okay?

SPEAKER_07

So my homie, DC Legend, don't charge Abdul. He was posting this on this story because that's his boy, him, DJ Clark Kent. Um, all the people that were on the list, Air Force One on the insole, they're part of that group. So yeah, I saw I saw this getting posted on Abdul's story. Shout out to Abdul. OG, real Abdul.

SPEAKER_05

Rest of Twitter. That's this guy's name. So his story was he ended up buying, and I don't believe this, but a bunch of Air Maxes for a penny from like a footlocker in the UK, right? Because he went in there and the guy's like, oh, do you cheat? Yeah, and this is like the late 90s. Now, Drew, you grew up in the late 90s. Did they ever have like super sales? Like when you went in to buy a shoe, did they have a sale where it'd be like five dollars for a shoe that was $100?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, SPs would, I mean, you couldn't give them away. They were, I mean, uh they'd be marked down to like $30. A penny crazy.

SPEAKER_05

This guy bought a bunch of shoes for a penny. So he went and that's really wanted. Yeah, that's crazy. I mean, the UK is a good thing.

SPEAKER_07

Air Max will go way harder. Like they love them, some trainers, some some 110s, some some Nikes.

SPEAKER_05

What's the TN with the TN, uh uh Air Uh oh um Air Max Plus Plus. Yeah, he wanted a pair of Air Max Pluses. They had a takedown model that had the TN on the back, and that's what he wanted because he couldn't get the real one. They were all on sale. And the guy sold it to him for a penny. So he goes home and his mom's like, I gave you a hundred dollars. Why didn't you just buy all of them? And then that's how he got into reselling shoes. Like him and his mom used to go around and buy all the debt like stock.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know the man personally, but I know people that do, you know. Um, I'm not gonna call him a liar. Maybe he had a deal with cuz. Maybe this wasn't a retail transaction. Maybe it was like, hey, bruh, I'm about to itemize out all these kicks. Give me a penny for him.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Okay. I mean, that that that I why I got caught up in this video. Do you have the clip when he says that? Uh it's at the beginning. I don't I don't you want to watch it? Uh it's just one thing too much time. Oh, actually, I can go on the clips. Actually, they have clips here. I'll I'll go on. But um, I went into a rabbit hole just kind of looking through their videos, and I was like, how the fuck they get all these celebs to go to these damn conventions and shit. It's crazy. I think let me see. Oh, he showed the first SB dunk ever made. Uh oh.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And it wasn't an S it wasn't labeled an SB either.

SPEAKER_03

That was a I can guarantee no one in the world knows the amount of this particular collection that I have.

SPEAKER_02

The craziest sneaker hoarder in the world. We have boxes of product that he bought 20 years ago that he's never even opened.

SPEAKER_03

I think I stopped counting after 3,000 clothing, probably in excess of 2,000. Oh this is this is Jay-Z's pair. Jay used to buy sneakers off me. I mean, this is a very depressing open. But yeah, this is an original MX 90. I showed the shoe to Travis. There was a conversation at around 45,000 pounds.

SPEAKER_05

That's a undefeated, right? Or they sold it at undefeated? The splatter something dunk.

SPEAKER_01

I actually don't know.

SPEAKER_05

It's it's very rare. It was uh friends and family that, and this he told the story, that's why I know this. It's a friends and family that only sold at undefeated, and they ended up not like having a anybody's, you know, buy them because it's a dope shoe, but it's very rare, and people have them, they go for like I mean I this market probably like 10-15, but back in the hype it was like 15.

SPEAKER_03

This was the first collaboration shoe for kids, but with Lego.

SPEAKER_02

Nike is paying you to explain sneaker history and footwear history to the masses.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I will make sure that the story is told authentically. These were for Drake, so it's in his size, which is US 12. With the production writing and everything still on it. An undefeated friends and family pair.

SPEAKER_02

Do you think that the greatest sneaker collection of all time is one that nobody even knows about? 100%. Oh, that's nothing. This is this is nothing.

SPEAKER_03

This is nothing. This this meant more to me. You know, a 1997, you know, up tempo. You don't even know what's back here. That's kind of fun. It's like two or three pairs of shoes that would just shut down the shut down plenty of collections. This is the shoe that started SB. I worked on these MX95s.

SPEAKER_02

Are you the greatest sneaker hoarder on Earth?

SPEAKER_03

Um, I might be. After this conversation, I think I might be. This is the Mark Smith one-piece laser. This reminds me of a shoe we've talked about a bit with Fat Joe and Perfect Pair, the Fuki Jama.

SPEAKER_05

This is still rare.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

The Fuky Jama doesn't really exist, right? What's the story on that one? That's the one from Entourage. That's the one from Entourage. I don't think that really exists. They just made it for the show. But then somebody made fake pairs and sold them to celebrities. I don't know. That's that's what I heard, and Fat Joe bought one and got duped, and then Perfect Pair, Perfect Pair has a pair of the real ones, and I'm like, I don't know what they call it. Yeah, I know. Yeah, I don't know. What's real?

SPEAKER_02

Wow, vintage Nike socks. What is this? Football managers on the sidelines as far as five minutes. What are you gonna do one day with the over 40,000 Nike items that you have?

SPEAKER_03

When I when I know, I'll let you know or two thousand. This is as old as me. And I've got and I've got I think I've got about 150.

SPEAKER_02

We've got that you don't even know what's inside of it. Yeah, how do you justify that? I don't I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

He doesn't even know what's inside of it. A full inventory that'll take years. Yeah, a shoe that was made for Charles Barclay. So this is a Charles Barclay sample.

SPEAKER_09

September 30th, 1992, made for Charles Barclay himself.

SPEAKER_02

It's just filled with stuff. Almost one in the morning. We've looked at hundreds of sneakers. There's thousands more you can make out 3D on the way out in your life on sneakers.

SPEAKER_03

That that question I can't even I don't want to think about. This was the first Air Force One low, even though technically it didn't happen. How did he get that? But this was the first Air Force One low for the safety of women when they're when they're out on a run. I don't think it was the first one. Pardon?

SPEAKER_07

I don't think it was like the actual first one that left the press. I think it's no, that was a sample. So it was like the first Air Force One ever created in history.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

There's no way he has come along.

SPEAKER_07

Ain't no way for him. He might have a pair from Run. I believe him.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not saying he's a liar, but I'm just like, yo. Bro, look. This is the first pair. That's a sample of the first pair. Ever made. Ever made.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. He got that from the set of air. Like, I don't know, brother.

SPEAKER_03

For the safety of women when they're when they're out on a run. There's a whistle. So if you ever feel you're unsafe, you would just, you know, CA sports twos. Nike wants to buy all this stuff off of you. There's been conversations, only a hundred pairs. Never even seen these on the internet. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

At this point, you get a permanent job as a Nike the store hiding behind the sneakers in the world. At the moment, I have much. Kanye shopped with you personally.

SPEAKER_05

We'd actually teach him a lot of stuff. He would see this is the type of guy. This is the type of shit I'd do if I had the bread to do it. Like just go on eBay and just buy rare shoes regardless of what they are. I like his passion though.

SPEAKER_07

He knows his stuff. And uh everything has a story behind it. So that's why, like I said, I'm like really the first Air Force One, but it's hard to question him because everything he's saying, it's not like uh I was born rich, I'm a Neppo baby, I got all of this stuff, or I was in one industry, I cashed out from that and jumped on the sneakers during the pandemic. So now uh I got this crazy thing. He's yeah, man, he's talking that talk, man.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I mean, I dig it. Oh, and it looks like he's wearing chlorophylls. Is that those chlorophylls?

SPEAKER_07

Do you see that? It's small on my stuff. Uh yeah, chlorophylls. I see something green though, so you might be right. I showed the shoes.

SPEAKER_02

Are you the craziest order for Nike products?

SPEAKER_03

Nike tags? Yeah, hold on. He collects the tags. When I know, I'll let you know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

He got I collect, I c I keep all the tags from all my stuff. It's me too.

SPEAKER_05

I do that too. Like when I when I if it has a nice unique tag, I always put in a Ziploc bag. I have a Ziploc bag full of them. Yeah, like clothing tags. Like the tags that call them clothing. Mm-hmm. I used to do that on my polo stuff, yeah, too. I do I still do it.

SPEAKER_07

I must be a rich guy, I think.

SPEAKER_05

I think it's uh like a polo people who wear a lot of polo do it. Um but when I get like like when um Supreme, Supreme does their collabs, they uh they always have like a nice hang tag on the on the clothing. Carpet makes pretty cool hang tags, yeah. Yeah, so let's go back to this thing, the Psyop thing with these motherfuckers. Okay, I just feel like it's weird that all of a sudden everybody's at got soul events and doing all these things. And it's just a sneaker read that they gotta be paying.

SPEAKER_07

Was that um sneaker? No, that was sneaker con. Maybe that's what caused the big shift. Maybe a lot of people wasn't feeling that and Trump shit.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and Steamboat SneakerCon got corporate, they got bought. Up by somebody by eBay. Oh, because they were doing the authentication at one point.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, eBay bought them and another. What was the other one, man? Drew, what's the other app? I'm looking up on my Sky. No, Sneaker Crush, Snow Collector, no. Kicks on Fire, I think. They got they bought them too. Was it Kicks on Fire? I don't know. It was one of those. I don't go to them anymore.

SPEAKER_01

SneakerCon uh acquisition. It's been a couple years. I just I I got tired of them. It's just a reseller paradise. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Got sold all that shit. I only go to those to link up with homies because to legitimately buy something. One, you got a question of authenticity. Two, those people are coming there. I think back in the day, it used to be opportunity to chat, show off rare pieces, swap, swap. Some people really needed to get stuff off. Now I feel like people just dress tables and make and make like reels and stories for content purposes.

SPEAKER_05

The first time I went was 2019. And that was the last time I went. I saw J2Kicks there, Seth Fowler. You helped him get out of that debt.

SPEAKER_07

Shout out you, man. You got what? You helped uh two J's get out of that debt, man. We love you for that. I didn't buy anything from him. That's the problem. You were part of the problem.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, either way, I it it was it was kind of boring. You know, I went up to every table, they had like full size runs, and you really there was no bigger size, everything was overpriced. It was just stupid. From what I've heard back in the day, it was way better. Yeah, because they you could go to a table, it would be somebody's collection, right? This is the stories I've heard, and it would be all the same. Like if they were a size 12, you're in heaven, especially if they're selling shit. And you can negotiate and you can kind of like tell stories.

SPEAKER_01

Because they were sneaker heads, they were like sneaker collectors that you were so you were amongst your people, not now it's just a resale market. It reminds me.

SPEAKER_07

When all heads would be like before these big budget movies, and before these limited edition figures, Comic Con really used to be for people who enjoy comics and common adjacent stuff, and now it's just like a walk-in commercial for pop culture.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's like when people go to the cosplay and shit, and it's it's like a costume show and shit. And then they they debut all the movies, you know.

SPEAKER_07

They have like the um the whole H panel where they show all the crazy trailers and shit. Right. Yeah, so it's I mean Spider-Man, let's go Avengers 2026.

SPEAKER_05

It's all it's all a game. I don't know. I just feel like it's weird that God's soul became so popular and like everybody goes through there. And I and I kind of I find it entertaining, you know, those little stage negotiations that they do. Like I got somebody comes up, oh I'm about to leave, I got $45,000. I want to buy out your whole table. Like, what? Who are you selling it to at that point? It's a reseller selling to another reseller, and they like negotiate, and he's like, I'll give you this, I'll give you that. There's always some Asian kid negotiating with a white guy.

SPEAKER_01

It's like it's like the whatnot streams, it's all incest, right? It's they're just bitten up and buying each other's crap to make it look like it's all hype and shit.

SPEAKER_07

So one of my homies has a store, a resale store, and I caught up with them, and in the background they were doing a whatnot stream, and he literally said, Yeah, I just bought uh I just sold to another reseller. I'm just like and it depends.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, if you're in a market where there's not many shops or whatever, I think it's a good idea to buy and sell that way. But in LA, New York, and all that stuff, and it's more competitive, and where if you're especially if you're not in a place where there's a lot of foot traffic, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_07

You know, at this point, man, I'd look at everything for the last quarter that wasn't Travis, that wasn't Nigel. If I bought it at retail, I ended up going, damn, I could have waited because Soulplay ATL or Foot Lock or DTLR or Lee Baron, all had it for like under retail.

SPEAKER_05

Dog, they hit they hit those sales. Yes, um uh Soulplay. They literally have a 20 like those Easter um threes. They had them 25% off uh literally like a week after they released. Anybody but the Pope that bought those for retail should have known better, though. Like brother, like you I got three pairs, so I bought one retail. I did the sneak. I always get the sneak because I don't like to buy resale if or or I don't buy resale unless it's like something that I know I'm getting a good deal on, or that I could resell. But if I'm gonna wear it, I want to make sure it's real, or if I'm gonna hold it, I want to make sure it's real.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, nowadays though, like I said, every and I and I've gotten some solid pairs for under retail recently. Uh Shadow 10s, reverse infrared salesman six, those uh diamond turf lows. Patience. And it wasn't even patience, I was just scrolling. Solange dropped uh a post on X and it was like, hey, I forgot what I want to say with Lee Baron. It was like, hey, the diamond turf low is like 130. It was like, well, doy.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, you gotta catch those sales when you can, but I'm just not gonna um right now, I'm just unless it's something that's hype or something I like those pink uh Travis's. Yeah, I went in for those. I really want them. But other than that, I'm not I'm gonna wait. And if I know it's gonna sit, like I want to get those Father's Day um threes. Those are dope.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not gonna lie. I like those. I was tempted to get them, pair for my dad, but I'm like, one, he's gonna look at me like, you could have just gave me the cash. Why did you do this? But like it's one of those things where I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I feel like markdowns and sales are helping Nike, not their bottom line, of course, but like helping sway people because it's certain products was a definite no or hell no, but then I go to the outlet and I see it on stand, I'll go, all right, you ain't telling me they was 110, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so let me ask you this do you like when people buy you shoes, like sneakers? Like as a gift? Oh my god. No, not used, just in general, yeah. Man, hell yes, but here's the caveat a lot of people know me. Well, hold on, hold on. Yeah, hold on. Stuff that you didn't ask for, they just kind of went out and thought you would like them.

SPEAKER_07

Now, if they know me and know my style or what I tend to pick up for myself, cool. I've had partners in the past that'd be like for example, it was tough times when the where she was at. I'm drawing a blank. Reimagine Force came out. Um my my partner at the time, she knew Red Four is my favorite four of all time. Things weren't lining up correctly. So she went out, did her due diligence, was all like, boom, I got you. Man, through the roof. Because the alternative was I was gonna have to pull some strings and finesse, or I was gonna have to pay aftermarket to eventually get a pair. But certain people, they mean the best intentions. They was like, hey, you like these Nikes, right? And I'm like, oh wow, what are these forces? Oh, these are Delta Forces. Okay. Um, do you have the receipt? I got you some dub zeros. Hey, man, hold up though. Depending on the colorway, I might actually because I would never want to buy it. Yeah, I own a pair.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I ain't got a cap.

SPEAKER_07

I own a pair. See, that's another caveat. It could be a shoe, everyone's got a shoe that they like, but don't like enough to pay for. So if somebody came through and was all like, hey, I got you these like you said, OG colorway dub zeros or spiz ice, I'd be like, Yeah, I was never gonna put my card to the counter for those. But hey, since you got them for me, you know, like those flight club ones and fours, man, that was so solid. I've actually really come across and like those ones. They kind of remind me of the Travis Black Phantoms. But I'm not giving up a triple-digit amount of money.

SPEAKER_05

I'm not gonna wear them that much, but if someone bought them for me, the white ones look sort of like the uh union fragment. The white flight club?

SPEAKER_01

The white ones with the you think of red ish.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Yeah, you're right.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say, I don't remember that colorway.

SPEAKER_07

That's another that's another series of shoes. If somebody came with the ones, threes, fours, or leavens.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I think it's a stretch to say they look like the Travis's, but you mean uni's? Wait, you saying what I said about the flight clubs? The fragments, yeah. The the flight clubs looking like the fragments. Oh no, I'm talking about flight clubs looking like Travis's, the rare airs looking like rare airs. Now you got me saying the wrong thing. That's look, they do not look anything like the fragments.

SPEAKER_07

If they were like they they definitely look like a takedown fragment. It's like we got fragments at home. But I I wouldn't expect anybody to confuse them.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but I don't think if if you're looking, if you're looking for just the I hate using this word because it's so cliche now, aesthetic. Everybody you yo, that's a I wanted to talk about that a couple of weeks ago. Every fucking fashionista Instagrammer, aesthetic, aesthetic, every food instagrammer, aesthetic, aesthetic. Like, what the fuck? Use another fucking word.

unknown

Sorry.

SPEAKER_05

It just pissed me.

SPEAKER_01

I like this aesthetic. I mean that's that that's what's funny with the episode. The aesthetic episode.

SPEAKER_07

I guess the synonym would be the vibe. I like the vibe of this.

SPEAKER_05

It's not that they're using the word out of context, it's just use another fucking word. It's just you saying it's overused. I mean, on social media it's overused, and I keep seeing it. And and it's funny because the food people, I think it's just the these Gen X people just start saying random shit.

SPEAKER_07

It gets me when people in our culture when it's even if it's a shoe that is not even that bad, like that's just not that cup of tea. They're like trash. Here we go.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, it's a fragment.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so yeah, it's got black, so it's yeah, it's sort of like oh man, no, like it's a huge song trash. But it's the it's the collar, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And honestly, I like that shoe better than this now that I'm looking at it.

SPEAKER_07

I don't like this shoe at all. I still I have it in retrospect, like it, the material that they use in the collar area in the larger swoosh, man. If you pick the wrong pair of bottoms to wear with those, oh we talked about that. Yeah, it looked crazy. That the collar on this one is a lot cleaner, but I will say, every time I put those union frags on, I do not regret that pickup. Like, I'll look down, I'll be like, damn, these these are cold. Or somebody will be like, I like even people who don't know that they're unions, they'll be like I like your royals. I'll be like thanks, Tink.

SPEAKER_06

I like your royals too.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, if you cover it up, that looks like a uh fragment royal. We got like five G's on your feet right there.

SPEAKER_07

Say what? Fragment Royal. What royal? Oh, you talking about the OG frags. Yeah. You thinking of the other colorway then? Those look just like frags if you got the pants over them. That's what I yeah.

SPEAKER_08

That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_07

I know everyone that's not looking at the screen is probably like what the fuck is that? Wait, the fragment royal fragment. See, this is the this is the royal. You think of the sport red?

SPEAKER_05

I'm talking about these, bro. Hold on. The ones that came out a hundred years ago. Oh, that's not them. What the fuck?

SPEAKER_06

I just hyper fragment.

SPEAKER_05

It's fragment Jordan one royal, right? Jordan. Sport one red. No, it's not red.

SPEAKER_07

Are you talking about the OG ones fragmented?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, the rare ones.

SPEAKER_07

These don't look like that though. They look like a royal.

SPEAKER_05

This is it right here, I think.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, you're talking about the one that's those do not look alike, actually.

SPEAKER_05

They look like the rare air or the no, they don't.

SPEAKER_07

They look like the other colorway of the fragment ones that came out, except the collar is not red. It's got a little swoosh, too. That swoosh is you feeling alright, bro? Yeah, bro, because you was you was going through that. You have a little stroke there for a second.

SPEAKER_05

Might be. I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

Your frame broke? What's the uh cholesterol count looking like?

SPEAKER_05

Actually, my numbers are better. I have lost approximately um about 13 pounds. I love the age health updates, bro. I know. I'm trying, my blood pressure's down, everything's good.

SPEAKER_07

How's the physicality? Have any uh how many days are we getting out of the house? I don't go anywhere, man.

SPEAKER_05

I've been uh kind of working depressed. I walk the dog a lot.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I noticed that, bro.

SPEAKER_05

You notice that?

SPEAKER_07

When you post content outside, it's normally like you know, wear tests on the cakes and truffles is always special guests.

SPEAKER_05

That's rare. Last time I posted content like that was like January, but thanks for noticing.

SPEAKER_07

We need it. We need a mind slide update. What's what's uh Mr. Foam and Simpson? This is six months of wearing the Nike Mind 002, and I gotta say, they're incredible, fam. Shout out foam, man. Shout out Buckets, he hooked me up with a hoodie. Buckets, yeah, man. That's my guy, bro. I love their brand, man. It's it's so good in the best way.

SPEAKER_05

I want to try the um Elliot. Uh what's his name? Elliot, not Wilson. Oh, Elliot Page. He got his little brand out there now, right? R.I.P. Elliot Wilson, though. Who's that? He's a content creator. He's a he did like video game stuff. You know who he is, Drew? Elliott Wilson. Oh, Lamar Wilson. My bad. I call it Elliot. Elliot. Yeah, wrestling Lamar Wilson, bro. Lamar Wilson. My bad, yo. I am right now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you lost like 13 pounds in your brain.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like oozing fucking brain fat out of my ear right now. Brain matter. Brain matter. My bad, yo. No disrespect, Lamar Wilson. Sorry. I wanted to who's Elliot Wilson. Oh, Elliot Wilson's the fucking XXL guy. I don't like him. Fuck him.

SPEAKER_07

Oh no, but no, Lamar Wilson, man. He definitely, man, when I was younger in high school, him and Dash, I used to love watching them together, man. It was sad hearing that he was gone, especially like the circumstances, man. Check on your mental, y'all.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I know. I wonder because he was such a happy guy, yo.

SPEAKER_07

But like, look at Robin Williams. Like, look at some of the most jovial people who gotta present that outwardly for the people who expect it from him. Deep down, man. That's tough. Like, Dave Chappelle said this once. I think it was Dave Chappelle. He's like, man, making people laugh is like the hardest fucking job.

SPEAKER_05

But he was just like, yo, Doug, when I saw his content, I never thought, like, he's not like the type of person I'd watch, but his the way he presented himself, I always thought he was just like a really nice person. Like, oh, look at this guy making his fun, he's playing a Nintendo Switch and telling us what's good. And his energy was always there. I loved it. Yo, hype.

SPEAKER_07

You know, I love the energy, bro. His unboxings, like, he reminds me, he reminded me of people who like get a crazy shoe, and then the comments would be like, Oh, you're creasing them. So on purpose, they'll like do the heel toe or like like press down on him. Like Lamar Wilson will like rip open the packages because everyone's like, That's a collector's item.

SPEAKER_05

He's like, We go with that. He does the box, he cuts the box open and shit. He's a great guy. I love that guy. RIP. Man, but um, oh yeah, Elliot Page. Elliot Page, yeah. I like I want to get one of their hoodies, uh, him and his brother's stuff. So like fuck with those two.

SPEAKER_07

I haven't watched the video because I know he did a video saying how long it took them to like craft and develop it. I didn't know it was like out, out. You what's the price range hitting on it? Like, what's it looking like?

SPEAKER_05

Like 60, 70 bucks. Not for sure. Oh, really?

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so he's not doing no skylark on me.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Yeah, I haven't looked into buying one yet, but I will. At some point, we will wear test.

SPEAKER_07

Elliot Page is somebody that like tried and true, out of all the sneaker creators that don't share my skin, same skin tone. Like, I constantly go back to the well-on. I just like his videos.

SPEAKER_05

I think he's part black. I think they're both part, they do look like they got a little Negro in them. Got a little Negro in them. Yeah, you can tell they got like wide noses and shit. You ever see them too?

SPEAKER_07

I thought it was just like I mean, I could believe they got some ethnicity to them. Like something. I don't know what to say to that. Drew said, man, I get washed enough for being white in a company.

SPEAKER_05

Nah, yeah, Drew, I don't know. I mean, I'm trying to be nice this week and not pick on you.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, listen, if it ain't my hat, it's my age. If it ain't my age, it's my skin color. So the other day, a homie watches the show came up to me.

SPEAKER_07

He was like, Man, I had 50, man. Congrats. I was like, you know, made me feel good. I was like, thanks, man. He's like, man, you know those guys, man. Good Kim, good Kim. I was like, Yeah, man, those are my bros. He was like, bro, for the longest time though, got their names wrong. I was like, ooh, you call them. He was like, bro, I've never met a black man with the name Hugh. He was all like, he was all like, Hugh's gotta be the white guy. He was all like, he's like, it makes sense though, man. Drew's invited to the cookout. He's cool. Alright, I appreciate that. Like, bro, you you would not believe how many people in my orbit, like, like maybe like man Drew's the coolest white dude, bro. Like, he gotta come around. Make me blush. Nah, man. Like I know I talk shit a lot because I would stop functioning if I did. But nah, man, of all the people I could be doing the show with, y'all too, man. Well, one and a half, because sometimes H. Oh boy. Nah, but nah, H is H is great, man. Like, I mean, we mean we've we've made something for better or worse, man. We've made something that people fuck about doing, and like here we are, 50 plus episodes in, still having fun with this shit.

SPEAKER_05

My rants have killed any chance of us getting any type of endorsement deals.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, yeah, well, um somebody was somebody was watching a clip and they were all like, you'll never get Patreon. And I was like, wow, they was all like, bro, they're gonna look at your man spending habits and they're gonna be like, I'm not giving y'all. Well, buy new cameras with y'all own money. Like, they was like, bro, the way I could itemize his cops, he's like, I could never, even if your Patreon was a buck, like no one's giving my shit.

SPEAKER_05

I'd be like, Yo, I but yeah, that one week, yeah. I spent the rack on Supreme for the all that damn bullet shit.

SPEAKER_07

No, it was we'll touch on that. It was the neon 95 clip. Why would I buy more? And then the next week he was like, So they had a sale, so I bought it. Yo, people that I knew were coming up to me, like, what's wrong? What your boy? I sold most of those already and made money off of them. Yeah, I was like, bro, he he what I was like, bro, it's a segment, man. We should really just have a segment called H Mass.

SPEAKER_05

So I uh I sent you guys a screenshot. Somebody's buying Air Max 90s like crazy in a size 12. I sold three of them. I sold um another neon. I had or OG, like the last retro, the 2020 retro. I had one pair left somewhere, and I was like, holy shit, I still had another pair of these. And then I sold my run club, the blue run club ones. And I and mind you, I had these overpriced and the biotech.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but I remember one time biotech 90s would be had for like double digit dollars.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, they were going three, four hundred bucks. I think um when the market went down, I ended up buying them. But when they first came. No, the reverse biotech is so much better. You guys know that one, right? The reverse one.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, because you won't let us forget it.

SPEAKER_05

It's better. I just like it.

SPEAKER_07

You won't let us know what's nobody.

SPEAKER_05

George on the sneak disc, he says it says the same thing, man. It's a great, it's better.

SPEAKER_07

Hey man, it's more I'm not disputing that. I'll stick with the dunks, bro. You you will fight to the death for those biotech.

SPEAKER_05

No, but I'll show you. And this I Googled it and it came up with all the biotechs, even the dunks. So I have the dunk. I like the biotech dunk, the regular one. But this is this is so much better than the uh those trainer threes. Lord have mercy, yes. I wanted these at one point. They're going, they they they were very limited.

SPEAKER_07

They're stupid expensive. Those they were limited as fuck. Drew do you remember the Dracula trainer threes? Was those an SB or those a regular trainer three? I feel like it was a regular trainer.

SPEAKER_01

Was it?

SPEAKER_07

I could be damn the vibe gave me SB. Supreme, we need some more train three SBs because y'all don't even want to see him to do. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So I'm going back here. Look, so they got them lined up right next to each other, right here. Which one do you think is better?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, because the first two pair are just a flip on the original, I would get the third pair just to have something different.

SPEAKER_05

These these are both the same.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I'm saying the first two pairs are the same. But like, yeah, that third pair, the alternate color, yeah, man, just because it's different to contrast with the dunks.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

I wouldn't want to have the dunks and those first pairs.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and I wasn't feeling these for some reason. I mean, it's got the purple. This has the purple toe box, though.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know. That's the OG, bro. You gotta respect well. At least I respect the OG. But no, I see I see what you think. This was an OG colorway? It's it's a flip on the dunks.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I know that, but uh well, yeah, yeah. So the color got you, I got you. Um, and then they came out with the all biotech purple.

SPEAKER_07

Those are the uh those are based off the Kobe 2 cheetah. I mean, easy to.

SPEAKER_05

I want those. I want to actually have to go look at them. The 400 bucks, never mind. But yeah, I I wear these, man. I wore these out all summer and back in 2019, or when the fuck they came out. And I had I've been sitting on these for a while. I think I have another pair somewhere, but I was like, shit, somebody bought them. I was within the stacks and I fucking sold it for $300 something dollars. $300. Yeah, I got it. What do you think about it? I didn't open it yet, but it's right here. Oh what do you think about it all? I bought the shorts, the basketball shorts, dumb. And I don't know. I I I feel like um I was living in that moment that I thought it was just cool to have stuff that's a bullet all over it. And we're here now.

SPEAKER_07

Hey Steve, nah, when they took it off, I was like, oh, when they do their end of the season sale, I'll run some of that stuff back. I think it'll be under season. I think it'll you don't think so? Nah, like I had convinced myself to get something from it. Something else, and I was all like, yeah, I'm gonna cop it. And I realized, oh shit, it's drop day. Um, Wednesday night, it was still there. Thursday during drop, they took it off. So like they still have it. They're gonna either liquidate it in store. And I know some homies that work near Supreme that can hook me up, or they're gonna put it on the end of season when they do.

SPEAKER_05

I'm surprised that the uh the fur hooded jacket didn't sell out quick. That's the best piece to me. Oh, the leather. Yeah, but I'm just saying you wear it next winter or whatever. That's why I got it. I like it.

SPEAKER_07

$3.98, man. I can run to was it $3.98? It was like three something.

SPEAKER_05

I think it was two, $2.50 or something. It wasn't that expensive.

SPEAKER_07

Nah, like the the jersey was $2.98, the sweater was $198, the like red leather varsity was like four, and then that hooded one was in the threes. What do you think of the jean shorts? For that much, I go to like North Face and give me a nice down. What do you think of the jean shorts? But the jorts are a choice anytime, and those were Super Saiyan choice because of the price. And it said bullets right across the crotch. I'm not about to lie. The way those were designed, I could have gone to Canal Street and got those.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they they it was weird how rent they put random, they like so they released I thought they didn't release everything in jeans. Um like the jean short they only did for the bullets. They did a pair of regular jeans for the nuggets, I think. Or Houston, maybe, I don't know. But they they didn't do everything as you know, a set. Every team didn't get every item type. That's exactly what I meant to say. Yes. I'm here for you, bro.

SPEAKER_07

But nah, the sweater was the most reasonable purchase to me because I'm like heavier duty, you know, you could wear it to your little ugly Christmas sweater parties. You know, me being from the area when I go down to Capital One Arena to see them lose. Well, luck might be turning around. First round pick. But like to go outside, a little chilly, throw that thing on, you know, slight little flex. It makes sense to me. Everything else, like I was looking at that 298 on that jersey. Like, what is it made out of? Like, is it Kevlar?

SPEAKER_05

The jerseys are pretty good quality. I don't think it was a mess jersey either. It was it was Mitchell and Ness stuff, so pretty good quality.

SPEAKER_07

Well, unless Mitchell and Ness came with it, then I don't even fucking. I'm not sure about 298, but why is it I'm sorry?

SPEAKER_05

I searched for the Supreme bullets and nothing came up here.

SPEAKER_07

Nothing besides the shorts. They should have been an accessory case of actual bullets labeled supreme on me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, dope. That's coming this season. I can't do this. I just anything with the writing across the crotch just doesn't make sense to me.

SPEAKER_01

So I could like ice cream uh like with the little fox or a visa across the crotch. He's from New York, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, no a Visual Visual got the little shoehorn, a shoe horseshoe thing looking thing, right?

SPEAKER_01

It works on some things, but with not this. It just looks weird.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, it's and I don't know. I mean, maybe for the kids, not for Hugh or Drew.

SPEAKER_01

No, I mean uh it's hard enough to wear jorts at at our age. Like it's just as weird.

SPEAKER_05

George being acceptable again. I kind of want to get back into it, but I'm just not motivated to buy a pair. That makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

You'll put them on, you'll put them on, you'll be like, I can't do it. Why? You'll look at yourself in the mirror. Be I'm telling you, just you gotta trust me, huh? You'll look at yourself in the mirror.

SPEAKER_07

Just can't do it recently. I get a long T2. Like, I could pull them off, like huge favorite word aesthetically, but I'm so used to wearing like Arteris or Nike running shorts, the comfortability of those. I'm like, dude, I don't want to wear these rigid.

SPEAKER_01

It's an age thing, bro. It's an age thing. And once you get past a certain age, you just can't be rocking Jorts. I just I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

I just I grew up in an era where like Jorts were kind of lame, so now that to see them come full circle, it's kind of like it took me a while to mentally get there, and then like the physicality of it. Like, I'm pretty sure there's a ton of great brands that use high quality denim, but like I see a lot of kids wearing like raw indigo jorts. I'm like, ouch. Yeah, can't be comfy, fam.

SPEAKER_05

But you can't. His hat flipped up, he'd be wearing fucking pigeon shit. Like, you I think you'd uh with the masters of the year.

SPEAKER_01

I got a skeletor shirt on today, man.

SPEAKER_05

You should be wearing jorts right now. That is a jort fit. Hey, if he threw it shout out to Johnny Cupcakes. I knew that was a Johnny Cupcakes, too.

SPEAKER_01

I was about to say, you about to wear that to the premiere? He-Man or Masters. I got the He-Man shirt to wear to the premiere. I'm actually I'm hearing the movie was actually pretty good. Yo, I'm I I grew up on that shit. You can't.

SPEAKER_07

It can't be worse than it can't be worse than the original.

SPEAKER_01

Oh F Lungren was yeah, yo, I watched that the other night. I was super baked, and I I I was scrolling and it came on and I couldn't turn it off. Couldn't turn it off. It was so bad.

SPEAKER_07

Who was the um love interest in that movie? Because she ended up was that Jennifer Anderson? No, no, it was somebody else from Friends. What's her name? Um Lisa Kuzher. Courtney Cox?

SPEAKER_01

Courtney Cox? It might have been Courtney Cox.

SPEAKER_07

I think it's Courtney, bro. I think it's Courtney County. Because I know no, Jennifer Anderson was in Leprechaun '93.

SPEAKER_05

She showed her boobies in that movie.

SPEAKER_01

It was Courtney Cox. Good poll, man. 1987. Let's go. I'm really I'm secretly an 80s. Kari's not to go deep. Deep water. I'm secretly an 80s baby. You must be.

SPEAKER_07

It's like that. Highlander. Kroll.

SPEAKER_08

Wizard.

SPEAKER_07

No, not wizard.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_07

What's the one with Tom Cruise and Tim Curry? Uh shit. Demon?

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_07

It's a generic one-word movie. It's pissing me off.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I'll find it. But yeah. And Jim Carrey? Legend. Legend. Legend. There we go.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Is what? What about Evil Dead? Is that in that era? What? No, uh it's not really, but it's the 85.

SPEAKER_00

Legend was 85.

SPEAKER_05

Evil Dead 2 for sure. Oh, Evil Dead. I'm sorry, no, Evil Dead 2. That's my favorite one. Not Evil Dead. Let me show you. Army of Darkness is mine. I love Army of Darkness. Yeah. Every dude put the chainsaw in his hand, right? Yeah, booty. That's Evil Dead 2.

SPEAKER_07

Yo, uh, Evil Dead SB dunk will go crazy. That would go crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Yo, that would be nuts, bro. Hell to the kids. Yeah, that movie was crazy. I love that movie.

SPEAKER_07

That was one of the it's crazy because the outsole of an SB dunk with those ridges could be the chainsaw, man, blade.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we could go all, we could we could do some sick SBs. You could do like uh Attack of the uh Revenge of the Attack of the Tomatoes, Killer Tomatoes, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember that one toxic Avenger. Didn't they get a remake recently with Peter Dinklage? I think they did, but I don't think it did all that high. I don't know. I don't know why you would re-it doesn't hit the same in this era.

SPEAKER_07

It just doesn't Kaufman era films, bro, existed in the time, and that's where they need to stay, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Shit was crazy.

SPEAKER_07

Best time to be alive, man. What the fuck are these motherfuckers talking about? All the good shit. Yeah, man. We need to do a retro pod talking about like that. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

We was talking about doing that.

SPEAKER_07

I forgot. All right. If y'all do a movie one, bro, it don't matter the subject. We can do 80s, 90s sports, we can do horror, we can do action. Like, man, load up the Arnold movies, load up the Stallone. Drew wanted to speak okay.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of movies, document like I love sports documentaries. I don't know why. It's just who does love so the one that just got released on Netflix. I'm not a tennis fan, but they just did one on Rafa. Holy shit. Yo, highly, yeah, highly recommend. You talk about an athlete that has undergone some it's called Rafa. Damn, they should have called a king of clay, but all right, fuck it. It was amazing. I I don't know, I didn't know anything about him besides you know just watching him play. What what an athlete! Like, literally, it's unbelievable his story. I thought so sometimes I checked that out.

SPEAKER_07

Like, as I was watching Rolling Girls over the past couple days, I was like, damn, Rafa's not here no more.

SPEAKER_01

Like, that's crazy. But it's interesting to see how just the way he came back from all the injuries he experienced, just nuts. And what he he played through the level of pain. I mean, bruh. I don't know how anybody does that.

SPEAKER_07

It's really good. My dad's a big tennis official. Like he watches every tourney. So we could watch it.

SPEAKER_00

He used to simple.

SPEAKER_01

I feel I feel like tennis has is just does ever since like Sampress and Agassiz, and then literally you did have the Rafa, what uh what's the other right for a minute, but I just feel like the the Agassiz Sampers just kind of took tennis in a different direction.

SPEAKER_07

I would say now though, I definitely agree with that take, but seeing people like Jokovic and um uh what's that other guy? Uh Cinner, like these new cats, man, they're doing crazy shit out here, man. Yeah, especially the ladies like Coco, um Naomi, Serena's coming back.

SPEAKER_01

I saw that from the couples match. I mean that talk about just dominating. Seriously. I mean, watching her on court was just crazy.

SPEAKER_07

I know she's changed a lot with you know her sponsorship with the GOP and her becoming a mother. I wonder what that playstyle is gonna like evolve into in these more advanced years for her.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like she is still a beast.

SPEAKER_05

She's almost fit, she's 47, right? She could be 47.

SPEAKER_07

She reminds me of like uh uh LeBron or like a Ronaldo, where I don't remember their age because when you see them compete, you like, damn, how old are you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know. Timeless.

SPEAKER_05

I think she's um she thinks she's my age.

SPEAKER_07

When I see when I I saw the like I said, the World Cup with LeBron and Ronaldo, and they were like uh barring back and forth about retirement, and I kind of go like, oh so you guys are like in the realm of your sports, y'all are like elderly. Like I forgot.

SPEAKER_05

They are elderly, Jesus Christ. Yeah, she's 44, they're gonna be 45. Oh, so big news just broke. Lena the plug and Adam22 are not getting divorced.

SPEAKER_07

Bro, this reminded me, and I said this when they announced the divorce. I was like, this is gonna be just like when Kanye and Bianca was fake getting divorced, and then they weren't anymore.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and then you had her like naked all over the fucking internet.

SPEAKER_07

Like, but when you're fucking other people and saying outlandish shit about your partner with or without them present, is that even like a traditional marriage? Why get divorced? Why go through the paperwork? Because y'all basically live in La Vita Loka anyway.

SPEAKER_05

I think they are just great business partners. Isn't that what marriage becomes at a certain point?

SPEAKER_01

Pretty much the worst business contract on the face of the earth.

SPEAKER_07

About to say, can't opt out of it. You'll be paying for it for the rest of your life.

SPEAKER_01

You're not wrong.

SPEAKER_07

But like, who who's who's to say if these people even share the same household with anybody? They probably just link up for the pod and like she gets black, and then after that, it's like nah, they probably they still doing their thing.

SPEAKER_05

I think they're not gonna be a big thing.

SPEAKER_07

It's like Melania and Donald.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they be banging out chicks together.

SPEAKER_07

Okay. Do they do they do just them or is they always gotta have a third?

SPEAKER_05

I think has he done the thing with a dude? I think he's done stuff with a dude with her, and more power to him. Even if I was open to sharing, I wouldn't do that. You would roll wifey? I would not like y'all balls gotta touch. Y'all just take f off the ends of the crossing swords and shit now.

SPEAKER_01

Tummy sticks? Come on, bro. Tummy sticks. You don't want to play some tummy sticks? Pause, bro. Pause. Yo, you're sitting here talking about and and I overstep? Okay.

SPEAKER_05

You just made it sound like gross or like I wouldn't even. I just said I don't want to. You don't like that aesthetic? No, I don't like that aesthetic.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so okay, so if wifey's like, hey, my birthday's coming up, and it's no strings attached, it's no like, all right, so next year I'm wanting to do it with a dude. She just straight up goes, I want to explore my curiosities on the female anatomy. I want you to guide me. You in?

SPEAKER_05

You talking to me or him. I know Drew's down. Drew's over my anatomy. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm so wait, you let another dude into the room?

SPEAKER_07

No, we're talking uh MFF. Male, female, female.

SPEAKER_05

MFF. Or FFM. ATM. Um oh yeah, for sure. Yeah, it makes sense. I think it makes sense for most males. It's not like it's not like a uh at this point in my life, and I'm just being brutally honest, I've consumed enough porn where I don't think that a threesome means much in the in retrospect. Because it's not so you've never had better. Yeah, it's never happened. No, but like I'm just saying that if I were to get into that that situation, that you fucking love it. It would be amazing. It would depends. Doesn't it be some kind of you gotta think the connections have it's just not just no if it was just a jump off, like no no no no no no no? If it was a jump off, like after the club, I met like two random Johns, hell yeah. Whatever happens.

SPEAKER_01

Sitting at the bar, feeling nice, two ladies walk up to you, slip you the key.

SPEAKER_05

You just said the no, the wife. You're talking about the wife, you you said I mean either either or the two randos, wifey and random. Yeah, Randall's different. Randall's different, but with the you know, all right.

SPEAKER_01

So a single comes up to you and the wife, slips you the card.

SPEAKER_05

See, it gets sketchy there because then it's like that's that's off guard. You have to be into that shit.

SPEAKER_01

I will say, it does get sketchy. I got robbed that way. See is cat okay?

SPEAKER_05

Okay, did it take the first two? This is come on, bro. She was back in the day, bro.

SPEAKER_04

The cat was that was back in the day.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, you're making it, it's just a to be those ways to get robbed though.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, yo, these chicks were slick, they finessed the shit out of us. They were going through I was at my parents' house, and we were anyway, there was a bunch of us. Yeah, they'll take each one of you upstairs, and then they got my buddy and they tied him to the bed, and they started going through my mom's jewelry and shit. And we caught him. Ah, it was wild. That was a hell of a that was a hell of a night. The price of an orgy, bro. I was watching.

SPEAKER_05

I'm watching one of Drew's clips here. He's uh why are you showing off these beat ass shoes, yo?

SPEAKER_01

Because it we're doing another challenge. No one I'm showing a bunch of stuff nobody shows.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, bro. You're doing the lowest work by doing that, man. Because you putting me on game to certain shit.

SPEAKER_05

I was telling him to show stuff people don't see. Yeah, you should. I'm not gonna tell you how to do your do your videos.

SPEAKER_01

I know.

SPEAKER_05

Q always shits on my content. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. I actually like the way you do your content. I like it. I like it. I just don't think that you're talking about the shoes people care about in the moment.

SPEAKER_07

I I know you care about these days.

SPEAKER_05

I think you know what's funny about shoe content now, and this is why I respect guys like uh what's the name, Sneakernomics and Elliot Page or whatever. Uh, they've done things where they take, you know, not necessarily getting shoes early or doing whatever, but they've done like the you know, like the wear testings and and and shoe content that kind of uh explores different aspects of utility when it comes to these shoes, not just the collector's standpoint. Uh sneaker nomics obviously he gets the gets some stuff early, maybe, or exclusives. And then obviously, you know, guys like Seth Fowler do all the technical shit, but he gets the stuff early. So and then Keist Omar just does stuff for money. But like for the guy for the brand us like us, it's hard to do something if it's not a hype shoe or you get it early.

SPEAKER_01

I just I'm bored with that type of content. Like I don't even watch it myself, so I I get it. I mean a lot of people watch it, like regular people watch it, but you just I find it boring.

SPEAKER_05

I think yes, you find it boring, but you're not consuming your content.

SPEAKER_01

Other people are I know I know what you're gonna say. I gotta appeal to I get it. I just I get bored making that kind of content, so it comes across that way. Oh, because you don't you're not you don't feel enthusiastic. I'm not into it. No, I don't want to talk about a Travis Scott sneaker. I just don't. I mean, we I want to talk about how shitty the release is, but I'm not gonna.

SPEAKER_05

You can talk about that. I've done that. You don't have to have the shoe. Did you do a video on it?

SPEAKER_01

On the release? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Oh, you did? I didn't see it. It didn't come across my algorithm.

SPEAKER_01

I did a only shout video on it.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, one of those. You shouldn't crash out.

SPEAKER_01

Not not like freaking out, but just more of a rage type environment. Hey, this rage fucking sucked. An aesthetic video.

SPEAKER_05

An aesthetic video. Yeah. That's what that's what we do around here. I don't know. I I've I've kind of straight away I've been experimenting with different types of content lately, like the conversational stuff and uh my solo content, I haven't figured that out yet because I want to do something that will impact society in a positive way without getting too bad.

SPEAKER_01

It's just been weird. It's been weird, man. It's I it's just been super weird. So, although my YouTube's getting a ton of engagement. Shout out to YouTube.

SPEAKER_05

What's the YouTube? Yeah, shout out to YouTube. No, what's your YouTube? Tell the people, the 20 people watching right now. Hit us all up.

SPEAKER_01

It's just the Drew. That's my YouTube. The Drew.

SPEAKER_05

He still ain't changed his name, man, because you can't find that shit. The Drew's shoes, right? See, I looked it up. It's two you's right. Uh what, on Instagram? I don't know what I'm doing. Oh, I'm just looking, I'm looking for you. I I put in the Drew's shoes and then Drew the Drew the sneaker god.

SPEAKER_01

Dre? That's yeah, Dre, the sneaker god.

SPEAKER_05

Dre, Drew, whatever. They're both the same.

SPEAKER_01

I wish yo, so this is Dre, for real.

SPEAKER_05

So this is interesting. So remember I was doing a test for you and I recut your content for you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it I thought it didn't perform.

SPEAKER_05

It's uh I don't know. Well um, it just came up randomly on my personal page after doing a search for you. Okay. I didn't I'm I'm just saying it just came up randomly under the the account I put it on. The final day of a Georgia That's not bad for this page. There's no this has like no subscribers.

SPEAKER_01

It didn't do well on Instagram though.

SPEAKER_05

No, it didn't. Yeah, because I think they they Instagram's algorithms kind of recognize when you recut vertical content.

SPEAKER_01

So what, it's bad to cut vertical content? I mean, there's no AI in that video, that was all me like literally manually editing it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I did all the same. But also, like I I think it was again like the stuff you were talking about.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we can move on. This no one wants to do this shit.

SPEAKER_05

There it is. It's one of the better performing ones. Hey, I know that guy in the corner. So sometimes I put alt clips on this page. This is the uh Lace Labs page. Shout out, uh Greg.

SPEAKER_07

And his arch nemesis on the other end. Well T man. Greg. Like Wolfie. If you're watching this with your nine times out of ten, nine unless someone sends it to you. You can be honest with me, bro. They be holding you at gunpoint to do them uh unboxing. He's gotta have like, yeah. Like I feel like they be like, read this shit and make a bun.

SPEAKER_05

There's a gun or something back there.

SPEAKER_07

Sometimes you can tell when it's a like wealthy. I will say this about him. He's got wealthy shoes. Like you'll look at like a Stone Island New Balance, and you'll be like, Well T might be excited. But like certain times, especially when he cracks those jokes in the beginning. I know he lets out like a deep, exasperated sound before he hits record. I know he's like, fuck man, I wish Brendan or one of these newer people was doing this shit.

SPEAKER_05

Brendan ain't there no more. Nobody could save him now. I got rid of that. Um what's that? What's his name? Brand new selfie. Oh yeah. Brand new selfie. What the fuck? How did you get that name?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I told you all 13 pounds right out the brain.

SPEAKER_07

Nah, because I knew it was cooked because I saw upscale post sneaker content on either his personal platform or somebody else's. And then I saw Joe doing a new podcast in conjunction with one of the big retail stores. And I'm also JD. I think that they were just like, fuck this shit then. Yeah. I wonder was he one of the big factors for shutting the project down? Because I didn't think he was that bad, to be honest. I didn't I never liked that podcast anyway. I'm not gonna say I never liked it. I I definitely liked it better when it was uh Walty, Brendan, and Joe. Especially if they had a guest, somebody I cared about or somebody that was actually in the space. Um, like that episodes where Action Bronson went well, and you know having uh I like the Marsh episode. Like I I was listening to him since they kicked off in the pandemic. It was a pacifier because four size run was gone, but I eventually came to like it. It was weird when upscale first came because he was new, you know, and you gotta find a chemistry. But I'm like, bruh, it wasn't that bad. It's not like the man was been in the game and he had some knowledge. I didn't see I would much rather live in a world with it than without it, but fuck it. Like it was highly produced, it probably wasn't getting a good ROI. There was a man right, shut this shit down.

SPEAKER_01

Well no, don't bring up ROI. Trigger word for you. Oh get that money, bro. I get that money. No, I was talking about the original, what what you were with.

SPEAKER_07

Oh fucking Oh, Stapleton. Yeah, that motherfucker. Jeffrey Stapleton.

SPEAKER_08

He's up, he's he's talking about fucking culture. If if if if new balance went into the door collabs, they'll just take any new balance that they sell in the store and put a fucking pigeon on and throw some orange laces, and people like you and Drew will go buy the shit because he's a fucking car, and he ties you.

SPEAKER_05

You don't be riding, yeah, you know, Eddie rides for all that bullshit. He'd be he be swearing like that shit was like great. Because he's I know he's not here, I'm talking shit, but he's so no disrespect, Eddie. I love you, you know that. But anything Jordan or dunk related or whatever, he just like holds that to a high regard no matter who did what.

SPEAKER_07

Like, hey, I love hearing Eddie talk about SBs, whether it's Nike SB, whether it's like Chad Muska, Etney, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

No, but skate shoes in general. No, his skate knowledge is insane. Do you even skate? Like, I don't even does he skate, or he just wears his shoes.

SPEAKER_07

If I look at old pictures of Eddie, I could believe he was in the skate thing.

SPEAKER_05

He gives off he used to skate. I think I talked to him about this. I don't think he skates. I think he just wore the shoes. I'll ask him next time he's back on here. I have to invite those guys back on because they'd be Jonathan accepts the invite all the time but never shows up.

SPEAKER_07

So John, me and him, like I went to go get lunch one time, and we worked like two blocks away from each other. It's my guy, man. John's good people, yeah. You be out there living life, man. Him and his lady, man. Me and him gotta catch a wrestling show one of these days. I know, man. I love John, man. It's my guy, man.

SPEAKER_01

Go check out the UFC arena on the White House long.

SPEAKER_05

Bro, I drive by that shit like every day.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna stay up. Do you hear that? That's the latest. Ever not gonna take yeah, they're not gonna. He doesn't want to do it.

SPEAKER_05

They do Monday Night Raw over there and shit.

SPEAKER_01

It wouldn't surprise me. Anything's possible either.

SPEAKER_05

Yo, these productions cost uh they're gonna cost at least 10 to 15 million dollars, I think, because all the security and stuff they need to put out there. I'm talking about just yeah, because you have to get people in there, security, or that's outside the White House.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. June, right? Hot, humid. What fighter wants to fight in those conditions?

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah, that's what they host. They said that who was talking about that?

SPEAKER_01

Bugs and all that shit. Rogan.

SPEAKER_05

One of those UFC fighters went viral.

SPEAKER_07

But see, like the White House line is like curated. They'll probably have like some crazy ventilation system on top of the arena and shit like that.

SPEAKER_01

Just what we need to pay for. All of us.

SPEAKER_05

I could see them doing like some kind of bullet. You know how people have been shooting at the White House lately? I could bet you that they're gonna like well during this event or some shit, they're gonna be a drive-by shooting. Yeah, bro, it wouldn't surprise me. They're gonna be some crazy shit going. You're doing this an outdoor event in front of the White House.

SPEAKER_00

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_07

If we're doing big wild shit like this, man, go ahead and just clear out the main entrance to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, just have them scrap it right there, brother.

unknown

Shit.

SPEAKER_07

Put it right there on the National Mall. That's nothing but when the Caps won the Stanley Cup, man, that's where we went for the parade. That's where they had it. It was boom, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Right next to the next Lincoln Memorial, whatever.

SPEAKER_07

When it gets the Washington Monument, brother. They put a big old belt around that motherfucker.

SPEAKER_05

What's that damn piece of that water thing that's in front of?

SPEAKER_07

What's it the what's the water little the pool that they are apparently supposed to be doing a project? I'm drawing the blank on that.

SPEAKER_01

In front of the Lincoln Memorial. Yeah, the not waiting. Um come on, let's juggle before we embarrass ourselves.

SPEAKER_05

Uh uh I'm looking it up. Oh, it's literally called the Lincoln Memorial Pool.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I thought it had another name. Yeah, watch them fill that shit with gelatin and have some fucking.

SPEAKER_01

The reflecting pool, I think he keeps calling it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, reflecting pool, yeah. They probably fill that shit up with gelatin to fucking have girls fighting in it soon. Or they'll do some kind of like a job in the cabinet coming up with ideas. You know, they might, or they might do some bullshit where they're doing some like um, you know, like one of them chat like like uh what they call it? American Gladiator Challenge, some bullshit over there.

SPEAKER_07

At this point, we just need to get a stream deck set up in the over office. Trump should just start live streaming. I know, right? Uh if people could drop the chats. Hey, who wouldn't watch it? You call it the fireside chat stream? Shit.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_07

I just revolutionized the man in politics.

SPEAKER_05

You did.

SPEAKER_07

Aiden Ross might host it. Like he might sit at Trump's desk, and Trump might, you know, be in the lounge chair taking a taking a hit off the vape. That is crazy. I would watch it. I'm not about to laugh. I try to be funny just now, I watch it though.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna watch it. I mean, you have to. We're Americans.

SPEAKER_07

Although that fight Trump just was the State of the Union.

SPEAKER_05

What'd you say? When's the last time you watched the State of the Union like in full? Oh, um, when we uh we watched it on the polypod a while back. November. Was that November? I'm not gonna lie, I'm so tapped out, but I just watched the highlights. Yeah, it was a while back.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I that was a different one. I I don't know. Anytime he addresses the nation, I gotta watch because it's I'm like something crazy is gonna come out, but it didn't I only watch it that one time with you and um Christy when she was on the show one time.

SPEAKER_05

She's still a part of the the network. I don't know what she's talking about. I don't know what I don't even know what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_07

Who are you talking about? You talking about show me, what?

SPEAKER_05

I don't know who this person is, yo. What that is a res June. Let's just say um didn't work out. We don't we don't do that.

SPEAKER_07

Well I hope I hope she's still subscribed.

SPEAKER_05

I hope she's still giving us oh no, yeah, hey, do your thing, live your life. Uh but that's you know, this is certain things that um that came out during our uh background checks that didn't um jive well with our uh platform.

SPEAKER_00

Hmm.

SPEAKER_05

And it's not that's not the whole trans thing that didn't that we didn't mind that so much. We thought it was interesting and and whatever, but the other it was other stuff.

SPEAKER_01

So you could you could pause the recording if you wanted to. I'm about to say what's the case.

SPEAKER_05

Oh no, I'm not gonna talk about that. I thought I told you about that shit. Nah, I did not know, brother. Oh, for real? No, bro. It's crazy. I'll pause real quick because this is a good story. Let's transition to uh another topic. What? Sneaker related. There you go. There was so much shit going on last week. I forgot that we talk about sneakers here. Uh wait, you guys, you don't want to get into that new raffle system that fucked up the Travis Scott thing because that was just like a we can if you want.

SPEAKER_07

I didn't try. So I missed a lot of once I tried to get in and it didn't work. I did my due diligence of passing the links off to the homies. I had homies hit me up going, it's working now. I didn't know what was going on, but I heard, like I know Drew mentioned the VPN. I saw our chat was, you know, getting hit with messages about try now and this. I said, you know what? If I just can't put in my size email and credit card information, I'm out.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. I eventually got through after paying almost as much as the shoes worth for a VPN.

SPEAKER_07

So let's hear the process like what did you have to do to enter?

SPEAKER_01

So the process was you would enter in, you would enter your info in. You would have to hit these three check boxes, enter your info in. And what that did is it's the reverse of like an EQL. It entered you into the raffle. Oh, if you hit on the raffle, then it would auto charge your card. So I guess it's similar to EQL, but it didn't feel anything like an EQL raffle because it would the raffle went live. They it would basically you would put your information in and it would go. What it's supposed to do is take you to the cart and check out. Well, it didn't do that, it took you to the cart with an empty cart. So people were waiting in the queue for like 30, 40, 50 minutes only to find out it would, yeah, cart was empty. So that was the problem. And I've been in software 20 years, like that company should be out of business based on the large set of fail that that that happened with. I mean, that is uh and for as long as they had that issue. I mean, it was like eight hours before that link was able to work, and it's even weirder that you could get in through a VPN, which makes no sense because I did it through a VPN, but I didn't, I was still in the United States, so I kept my location in the US, so I didn't understand what the VPN allowed you to do. It was weird.

SPEAKER_05

It's probably something that blocked the protocols and and hopped, you know, like you it hopped to another server, and that's where it broke. I mean, it it it went through because it was one-to-one. Yeah, it went out like that. But the problem here was that that software or that site is supposed to block VPNs, like the person box and all that. Lots of VPNs and all that. Anything that was supposed to filter those out, it let them in.

SPEAKER_07

So I was I've seen a decent amount of W's from this, more than I expected. Do y'all think the frustration initially with the entry process caused people to just say fuck it? And it was less entries, or what? Mm-mm. I don't know.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I was trying. I said I this is my last chance. I didn't get on sneakers because they put like 10 pairs on sneakers. I'm just like, I'm gonna try if I get in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I and I got it. I was invested. Yeah, I helped a bunch of people out too. I entered for a couple of the sneaker peeps. You called me.

SPEAKER_04

I called me. I was like, shit.

SPEAKER_01

I was sitting here, I was in a dirty wife beater. I FaceTime you because it was too hard to explain.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, man. I was sitting here just chilling. I had I was just in some old wife beater with like holes in it and shit. And I was like, yo, Drew, what's good? Uh eating a beef jerky stick. I was like, I gotta get in this raffle. What's this VPN thing looking like? Yo, it was wild. And uh, yeah, we didn't we didn't get it, but I mean look, I saw one of my entries because I did two entries. I could have done up to four because I had it going on my laptop and everything, but I just decided to do two and I still haven't gotten a response on one. And it's still uh my shop app still shows that there's a Travis Scott pending. So I don't know. It might I might get it, it might not, but I heard they started shipping out already, right?

SPEAKER_07

I haven't got but hopefully you get them, man. Hopefully you wake up one day and it's a box from Utopia, wherever his factory is, and you get lucky.

SPEAKER_05

It's the one with the uh the the darker pink swoosh.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know the difference between I know one is what tropical pink and the other is what.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, this gotta be oh no, that's some that's something else. Oh wait, it's no longer in my shop app. Shit. Uh oh. It disappeared.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you would have known already if you hit.

SPEAKER_05

Oh wait, nope, nope. No, here it is. It's still there. Yeah, waiting details.

SPEAKER_01

There's a it's gonna stay that way. I have a ton of those in my shop app.

SPEAKER_07

It's just every time I enter a raffle, I don't believe you.

SPEAKER_05

Click on it. Click on it. Clicking on it. If I click on it, it'll it'll it'll jinx you. It'll jinx you.

SPEAKER_01

No, you can click on it and it'll tell you that you didn't win.

SPEAKER_05

It'll tell me nothing. It's not telling me what I want to hear that I won. And in my head, I'm delusional and I'm winning.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_01

Pay the fucking resale already.

SPEAKER_05

I am not gonna go. I'm not jumping out the window and reselling this one.

SPEAKER_07

You can sell my Air Max 90s like crazy. Go ahead and use the proceeds from that to get the trial assist.

SPEAKER_05

No, I'm gonna do it. I ain't doing it. I had this thing all backwards. Nah, I ain't doing it. You'll do it eventually. Maybe. I just I just uh I just really like these shoes. I'm not like a I want to get a pair before I go on vacation, so but but here's the thing about that release though, like his old system wasn't the worst.

SPEAKER_01

Like literally an invoice. Like what I don't know why they had to update it.

SPEAKER_05

So they did a uh Pharrell release on this uh the same app, and it didn't go as bad because a lot of people didn't enter it. Whoof, woof for what, uh the jellyfish? No, it was another like other type of shoe. Do you know what I'm talking about, Drew? Yeah, it was like a like last month. Was it the flat, though flat? Something looked like oh yeah, they could have released those as GR.

SPEAKER_07

That would have been our yeah, yeah, but they did it as uh something like that, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So they use the same same uh service. So it's some newbie that's that that's connected with like whoever. So either way, it was it was uh I I'm not gonna say it was a horrible release. I'm just gonna say it just wasn't I thought worse Travis kind of.

SPEAKER_06

It was a Travis release. Like, what more can you say, man? Yeah, so you just kinda expect shenanigans.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm trying to get my app ready for uh Vegas, SneakerCon. I might do a booth or a table.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, well, if you do we got to Manesqua gotta link up, man. You want to go to Vegas? What is this?

SPEAKER_01

Let's do this in October. July.

SPEAKER_07

July won't be here. Wait, sneaker, sneaker con? Oh, you say sneaker con. I'm thinking of complex con. I'm sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, sneaker con. I didn't. The complex con would be dope, but I can't.

SPEAKER_07

That's in LA, though, right?

SPEAKER_01

They do one in Vegas and LA. It's in Vegas.

SPEAKER_05

I thought they did one in LA.

SPEAKER_07

I think I think I could uh sneak a trip to Texas in July. Make it happen. Especially if it's on the weekend. That's not like I gotta take off.

SPEAKER_05

You gotta go to Vegas, though. That's where he's gonna be. Vegas.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, what? He's going to Vegas, not Texas. Oh shit, whatever that works too. I want to go to Vegas a weekend.

SPEAKER_07

Boom, Vegas on the weekend with the gang?

SPEAKER_05

Let's do it, bro. Depends. And I don't, I'm booked up in July, man. I ain't trying to be out in the streets like that. But I wouldn't run if it was in September, October. I mean, October, that's Complex Con.

SPEAKER_07

We can just go to ComplexCon for the strength of it.

SPEAKER_05

I'm down for that. I'll try a complex. Well, the tickets like seven, eight hundred bucks, right? Not too bad.

SPEAKER_07

I'm gonna hit up uh I'm gonna hit up Marcus Jordan and see what his next venture is. I'll go from for complex comp.

SPEAKER_04

Bump man, bump man, bump man, bump man, bump man, bump man.

SPEAKER_05

Allegedly. Allegedly.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, who knows what that white powdery substance on that table is. Sugar.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that you after you crash your sugar to a fucker.

SPEAKER_07

It was um it might have been the uh uh documented receipts from all those trophy room ones.

SPEAKER_05

Bro, look as look, reference trophy room. Look, bro, LeBron's kids play in the NBA, Michael Jordan's kids. There we go. Yo, not to get into social justice or any of that shit. You heard about that um the kid that got shot in the back a couple years ago that they just had the trial.

SPEAKER_07

That was uh you're talking about the young man with the water bottle, right?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Cameron. That's his name.

SPEAKER_05

What's his name?

SPEAKER_07

I might, I might have said that wrong. Uh I know exactly what you're talking about. Let's put some respect about it. Let's look it up.

SPEAKER_05

I'm doing it now. Oh my shooting. Um, 14-year-old Columbus. Well, they just had the they just got the um verdict on the trial. So I didn't know about this case.

SPEAKER_07

It uh Yeah, pardon me for my ignorance because I wasn't aware of it until the um verdict came out.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

They just they vandalized the dude store.

SPEAKER_05

Um Cyrus Carmek Belt. Cyrus. The kid's name was Cyrus Belt and R P Cyrus, but uh the the kid was in the uh this convenience store, right? And he pulled he went to the um drink case and pulled out a couple of waters and decided he didn't want them, put them back. And then as he's walking out the store, they're like, You stole something. And he was like, I didn't steal nothing. He goes through his pockets and shows him, I didn't steal nothing. They're like, open up your backpack. He's like, No. And he leaves, right? And then they they he leaves and they start chasing him, the the father and son. And they run about a hundred yards, that's what they said, and they end up shooting him. Now, after they shot him, they the police discovered he didn't steal anything. And secondly, he got shot in the back. Thirdly, he was carrying a gun. Uh but it was I think it was in his backpack. And he didn't pull it on them because again, he was running away. And the court, I mean, you'd think this would be a clear-cut like murder, right? The fat the the older gentleman shot him, and um they found him not guilty, which is like I mean, I'm looking at this is a CNN. Why is this ad up here not going away? What the fuck? Yeah, that's the guy. But it just goes back to like that whole like, and I know this from the 80s and 90s, because this is you know, on the hood movies and shit with the um uh the hurry up is by. Remember that from Menace of Society?

SPEAKER_07

Oh, no, don't be a menace, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

All of that stuff, and it I mean it's real because in New York a little girl got shot over a bottle of water too, or some shit. She had an argument and the and the the store owner shot her. And I don't understand, you know, if you're in this whole like damn, why are they showing ads like that? It's 2026, right? And I know it's not cool to be woke and and and and you know respect black lives anymore, but this is so fucking blatant and and disgusting to me. Like, how do you you don't know this is murder, and the guy the guy I don't know, I I just even even if a young man stole bottles of water, bro?

SPEAKER_08

Yeah, you can get a case of water from your local grocery for like four dollars, bro. Yeah, exactly. Like bar him from the store, um trespass him, call the cops in retrospect.

SPEAKER_05

If he stole, then he didn't see it. And it he didn't even get into a altercation. The people that saw it just heard gunshots and the kid down on the ground.

SPEAKER_01

Now it's crazy to open fire on the street for fucking you know, if someone catches a straight bullet at that rate.

SPEAKER_07

If I'm in my home with my beautiful family at rest, and someone breaks in and enters with the clear and present danger to steal from me and harm me, but then he sees that I got something, so they immediately turn around. If I shoot that man in the back, even if they in my property, I'm a criminal. You know what I'm saying? Like somebody could say I'm a different stand your ground laws are different. I will be found guilty. Well, shooting the man in the back after they made a clear threat on my life and my family's life, but there was no sense of threat here. I'm legal. Yeah. If I'm this young man, I'm hey man, I didn't steal from you. I'm not, I don't got time to argue about no four funky ass bottles of water.

SPEAKER_05

And they were the aggressors too. They ran after him. So now he's it's fight or flight, right? It's like they're they they're trying to attack and they're chasing him.

SPEAKER_07

Hey, yo, I'm about to pull this thing out. Maybe the reason he didn't want to open his backpack, he put two and two together and went, shit, I got my gun.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and it probably it might have been his dad's gun or st or not registered. Who knows? Either way, regardless, that is not a license to kill somebody. Because that's always the case when they do these things. You know, like if like uh remember the Michael Brown thing, or remember that that kid in um I forgot where it was. It's one of the first things where where he was outside jogging. No, no, no, no, no. He was um in the back seat of the uh they're trying to arrest him. They said that he uh had shoplifted some some cigarettes or something. This is the thing that started out all that shit in St. Louis. Oh, okay. No, no, just Michael Brown, I think the kid's name was. So, yeah, they they they they tried to run, and and he was being a little like aggressive, and they ended up shooting him, right? And I'm like, why? Like, there's like five cops, like, why are you doing this shit? And the Fernando Castile shit, where he's like, Yeah, I have my registered gun in the car. The minute they heard I got a gun, they shot the black man. It's like this that implicit bias shit is so fucking real. And it's like, if you feel and I don't look, I'll admit to it, like I and like I said, there's such a great analysis, like uh a black, I should look for it for you guys and send it to you. That regardless of like, you know, uh appearances or as we've been calling it, aesthetics of people kind of trigger a sense of like, hey, I want to, you know, uh protect myself. Like if you see a big black or white guy walking behind you on a dark street, you're going to react in a certain way. You're gonna cross. And I don't I think most people, you know, depending on if you are if you're a civilian or not or whatever, would have that same reaction, you know? Especially if you're not like savvy or understand anything. You'll just be like, all right, I'm just gonna cross because I feel safer across the street. Now, if I was the black guy behind you, I get this in my own neighborhood, by the way. I'm walking my dog. Oh no, I'm serious. Oh, white ladies, literally this one white lady walking past me. Like she was behind me. I'm I'm taking my time, chatting on the phone, right? Walks past me, realizes oh shit, it's a big old black motherfucker. Like she pretended she was on her phone until I went past her and then walked back the other way.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I don't like you know, like people.

SPEAKER_05

No, but no, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Because you're doing something that because I was scared to walk around. Like I told you guys when I first moved here, I was just scared to go outside because there's too many damn white people. Because I was scared of getting shot because somebody thinks I'm like clocking their house or something, I'm gonna rob it. I'm serious.

SPEAKER_07

See, it's unfortunately it's relatable. It's real, it's real. There's definitely been times where I've been in certain areas. Uh and it's crazy how many people can relate to this if you're a person of color, leave a comment. You've had an experience, and I'm not necessarily saying with a white person, it could have been someone of the opposite sex, could have been white, Asian, um, Latino, but they'll be startled by your presence. Yeah. There's been times where I've been in neighborhoods and like jogging or I'm doing work for my job, I'm doing field work, and I'm like, hey, how you doing? Oh, oh, um, hi, even if they correct themselves and be like, oh, hey, but it's like, yeah, sometimes you even just laugh at it, you go.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. And the only thing that really protects me is I'm I'm walking this little dog, right? And I'm looking, you know, like I'm now neighbors know me, so I'm non-threat. But in the beginning, I was really just scared that somebody'd be looking out their window, gonna call the cops, you know?

SPEAKER_07

Like, yo, there'll be times where like wearing like this type of headwear or having a hoodie. I check myself. It's like a reverse privilege check. I gotta go six foot 185, broad shoulder black dude in an all-black hoodie. Yeah, okay. Let me not walk around Nordstrom's like this. You know what I'm saying? Just off the simple fact that you're not necessarily thinking that, oh, I might get shot. You just don't want to run a vibe instantly. After the third person goes, hey, you find everything all right? I'm like, you don't necessarily give a shit if I'm finding everything all right. You're just making sure that everything that was on this display table stays on this display table unless I go to the register.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. And that's a it's a weird thing to call it. Sorry to have this racial discussion around you, Drew, but it's it's real. And I really we don't have like much of a platform other outsiders to talk about it, but it it being that, you know, as a youth, I saw it so much because I grew up in a very white neighborhood, and the mall, it was all these people, white people, white people. There have been blatantly somebody like my sister and I be running around playing like like hide and seek or something in the mall. And then um one time this guy just like we ran past some people, a group of people, and then I was like hiding in the corner, like from my sister. And this guy goes, loud, like, oh, make sure you still got your wallet. Like, like, what the fuck? Like, I'm pickpocketing you, like I'm like, I don't mind you, I'm like 12 years old, 12, 13 years old. You know what I'm saying? And just because of the color of my skin, me playing around clearly, like with my sister or whatever, and you see her coming, whatever, it's it's just weird. Like back then, it bothered me. Like, oh, also walking around like the record store, right? This is the day. Remember that back in the day they used to have the thing with the listening station, the Sam Goody, Tower Records, bro. I'm in the Sam Goody or Tower, whatever the fuck it was in my mall. I'm walking around looking for the new brand newbie and CD or whatever, and I'm listening to the thing, right? Man keeps coming over to me. You need help? You need help? I'm walking down the next aisle, following me, like literally following me. I'm like, I don't need help, bro. And this is when I'm maybe like 15, so I'm starting to get the motion now. I'm like, okay, I see what it is. And then it's it kind of, I don't know about you, Kari, but it it it kind of hurts in a sense, like, like from a like, hey, I am a human and I'm not here to steal shit. But then also you gotta be conscious of what society is and what's ingrained in it.

SPEAKER_07

It doesn't hurt me, especially being on the other end of that situation, working retail for as long as I've had when I did it. Like one thing that it used to be a common occurrence around my friends when we started getting our little money, because I've always had like a hustle mentality, so money wasn't foreign to me. You get to the point where you almost get like aggressive with it. You go into a store and you know they hit this the the phrase is the usual suspects, you know. But you go into a store, it's a hiring store. You might be in, like I said, Nordstroms or Macy's, and at that time, you know, everyone wanted designer, you wanted polo this, and you notice you're getting followed around. First thing youngins love to do, especially those who got it to show, they'll take out their little stats. I got I got money, I got money, motherfucker, so you can stop following me, you know. And it doesn't help the narrative, they go loud and aggressive black youth, just as I thought. You can't win resort to that because you like, I don't have to feel shit. Look at this. You see this? I this is you shouldn't have to have your annual salary, motherfucker.

SPEAKER_05

But most of the time, like Roger, pretty woman, when they was like profiling her for being a prostitute or whatever, poor. Like, I'm like, but at the same time, it's like white people, like she like you seem pretty woman, right? I know of Julie Robertson uh in that role, but I don't I don't know there's a scene where she goes to this really high-end like dress store and looking for a dress, and um, or a bunch of them, and they wouldn't they wouldn't give her any service or whatever because she was she's dressed like a prostitute, right? They thought she was like just like shoplifting or being a fucking prostitute, uh and and um she finally went to a place and they were nice and they they gave her the thing, but like you could tell for her reaction was like, Oh my god, I've never been treated this way in my whole life. This is and as a white woman, right? And then so like for me, my sister, my anybody, most of the kids in my family, that's like just par for the course, and you can't react in a certain way. You you if you lash out, look at the monkeys chimp chimping around, right? Chimping out, yeah, it's the building, yeah. Yeah, and I mean now that that's the word for it or whatever, and aesthetically it's not very pleasing to do that, right?

SPEAKER_07

So that's yeah, you gotta learn elegant ways to handle it. It's you know, for lack of a better phrase, taking the higher ground because there's been establishments I've gone into where I've been examined a little too closely, or the opposite. I'm gonna speak to everyone else in here because I'm commissioned minded and they're gonna spend money. He's not. Meanwhile, I came in there card at the ready, cash in hand. I'm ready. I came in here looking for something specific. But after a certain point in time, if I'm not spoken to an establishment, I'm just leaving.

SPEAKER_05

That's true. Exactly. That's if you need help, right?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I'll walk in there and I'll be like, I've it's even been times where I had to throw a little poof. I had to spit on it, had to rub some vinegar in the wound. I'll walk right to the counter with the expensive item. I'll miss I'll displace it on purpose, put it on the counter, and go, this was gonna be a sale for you. But since you disrespected me, I'd rather not. I might even have to spend more online, I might have to pay the shipping and I'd rather do that.

SPEAKER_04

I don't have time to prove points.

SPEAKER_05

That's how that's why I like online shopping now. It avoids a lot of that retail bullshit with people. Drew, you ever get profiled for like wearing your hat weird and shit?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean when I was tattoos back back, well, tattoos have always been kind of like people kind of look at you a certain way. But yeah, I used to have a huge mohawk and all that shit. So I'd go into a nice store and they were like, Yeah, you can beat it, buddy.

SPEAKER_05

So you have to look crazy. Right.

SPEAKER_01

So that's why I apply it, right? Like I can't experience what you guys are talking about at the same scale.

SPEAKER_05

It is, but just being different, like it's just and then and it's not like just just your skin tone being different automatically puts you in this weird box with some of these people. And dude, it comes with the training in some of these retail places. I mean, like the bias is there, but some of these places are like when they show you like who not to who to look out for in those little manuals and shit, there's a black guy, Hispanic guy, and then a crazy looking white guy with a mohawk. And it's that's flipped up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but the I think the one of the worst areas to see it, or at least I experienced was at the car dealership. Like when the wife went in to buy a car, she was treated a certain way, and then when she showed up with me to buy the car, it's just a totally different experience. I've seen that.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, yeah. Yeah, they treat you as a crazy to me. Well, no, they probably run your credit, they go, Oh, Mr.

SPEAKER_06

Goldie, hi. I'm like, oh hi. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if you've ever walked into like a Porsche. Oh, they think you don't have money.

SPEAKER_07

Mercedes, well, women they think they're gonna finesse them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they think they can pull one over and overcharge. But if you like, if I walk into a Porsche dealership or like something high-end, yo, they don't even look twice at me. That's weird. I'm like, yo, I've owned like six Porsche's. What the fuck?

SPEAKER_05

Love me when I get it. I think because I look like an athlete or a rapper. I go in there, they'd be like, oh, he got money. Because I like it, it's I'm always if I'm going to I already know how to dress the part. I'm not gonna go up and like wearing a suit or anything. I'll be dressed like, you know, athleisure or whatever. I'm going just the way I want. I mean, I got the money, I'm here to buy, you know. I'm saying, Drew, I wear a hoodie, whatever. I just but I I have that presence of like an athlete or somebody like that because on my build. So actually, when I went, I was with my mother-in-law and we went to a Louis Vuitton store, they thought I played for one of the football teams.

SPEAKER_01

Because I was just in this should have told them. Signed autographs and shit.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. I don't know. They she was like, Yeah, you look like like you're an athlete. Because I'm wearing like a clean, like uh colorful, like polo zip up thingy, and I'm wearing like, you know, expensive sneakers. Not even expensive, just clean sneakers. Yeah, but they but still that's it's it's profiling because just like, oh, the only reason we're treating this black man better is because he looks like this. And you got the obviously they know when you're in a city, they understand like who the people are. There's athletes, drug dealers, famous people, whatever. They know the drug dealers that come in there because they're just buying anything and it's just obnoxious. They love taking their money, right? And then they know the fucking, you know, the athletes and whatnot, and and they're always trying to, you know, help them, make sure they bring their friends back in so they give them a little deal here and there. It's all it all it's all relative, but at the same time, it's just like it just sucks because the only way that you can get service and if you go in there regular, like I just saved all this money and I want to buy that Louis Vuitton wallet I've been dreaming about since I was fucking 12 years old, and then they treat you like shit. If they even do that, I don't know, but it's it's it's it's like when um at the time he hadn't worked with Home and Newbows.

SPEAKER_07

I think it was at the burgeoning started his collaborative efforts with them. But Salahi Bimberg. Yeah, because he was head of men's footwear at Versace at the time. So he went to the Versace store in Beverly Hills and like he did a video on Science like, yo, do you believe this? They're profile of me. They have no idea who I am, and then the employees in there were like trying their hardest not to look at the camera, and the cops were being relatively they was like, sir, I get it, brother. They called us. I'm just no, he was like, Yeah, but y'all export me out the stores, what y'all saying, right? Like, I gotta leave because I'm because I'm what? Because I'm no idea that it's the Lehi Benberry. He's picking up product, or he's around product that he designed. He was like, Oh, I have to leave. Wow, okay, all right. That's nice. Like, I'm I'm rubbing shoulders with Kanye and Mark Parker, and man, I designed the Lunar Grand technology for Gohan. I gave two chains of signature sneaker with this brand, the first men's sneaker that this brand has ever had, but I gotta leave because I'm black with a scruffy beard and I got like baggy ass pants.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, man. It's tough, man. I don't, I don't know, man. It's uh it that it doesn't bother me as much anymore. I know I I mean I don't I actually out here I haven't seen it as much, but it's a different demographic.

SPEAKER_07

There's not a lot of I would I would say my desensitization from it comes a lot from I'm in the DMV and there's so many different cultures. It's a heavy black culture here that like do we experience it sometimes. You go a little too far into Tyson's or King George County, or maybe you're um Tyson's hood as hell now, man. But that's the you know, when you're in a certain store, they might raise an eyebrow. But first off, they also fear for their safety because they're not the majority. So if they pop off kind of crazy, shoot, the person they're popping off on can pop off right back, and they might have something in that glove compartment, and we'll let that shit fly. You know what I'm saying? So it's not like a oh, racism galore here. Let's be offensive. It's I've seen clips on Reddit and on TikTok where somebody might say hard R get a little bit too out of pocket in their passing lane, and actually know they getting laid out on Connecticut Avenue. And then even white people are walking by going, ha ha ha. So it's like here, not so much, but I I know there's rural areas just a little north of here, just a little south of here, where it's a completely different ball game.

SPEAKER_05

It's true. I know, I know. So uh let's get back on this. So the is this true that they're going to taper back on Jordan retros and kind of so many.

SPEAKER_07

I think I've heard ones in particular, so many platforms have reported on it's gotta be true at this point. You think that's gonna bring the hype back? I don't think it's gonna bring the hype back. I think it's gonna one if Jordan ones can do very well if the quantity is reasonable, the quality is decent, and it's colors that people actually want. They need to, if I were them, and I know nothing about nothing, scale back on retro ones. Don't completely take them out because certain people are not sneakerheads or have disposable income like we do. So that mid and that low at those affordable price points have a market. But if we're talking about these major releases every two weeks, man, scale back the ones they kind of have, though. This year at least. Scale them back to the point where we're looking at substantial releases, like maybe let the 85 cut shine for a little bit and then do it in colorways that are either OG that you're not gonna sell out, or these standout collabs that draw attention, like a Travis, every couple months. Like they previewed the Royal 85 cut ones, and they did that big showroom that had the shadows and the metallic series. Hey man, do one of those every couple months, limited quantity. Make people want ones again. I can't miss a one when in the last couple years I've had lost and founds, patent breads, 85 breads, band lows, Chicago lows, union collaborations. Like it's like I can't miss a Chicago if I'm getting a Chicago every year. Yeah, they still got the band ones on the site, which to me is not a bad thing. Like, I'm glad that people can go to their store and get a classic shoe like that, but I do agree that it's it even even if it wasn't the Jordan one, like let's say it's any other Nike model. Man, it's too many of these at this point, and too frequently.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like the SE cut.

SPEAKER_07

And that's another thing, Drew. The cut this is fair.

SPEAKER_05

The SC. I mean, I thought the SE's all had like this little check. Not all these have it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they do two mini cuts. It's a different cut, man.

SPEAKER_05

They came out with a shoe, one of my favorite ones. I don't think it was SC, but it it looked like this. I have that.

SPEAKER_04

This this one.

SPEAKER_05

I like this.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, the on Travis.

SPEAKER_07

Uh but not.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, they got there's some decent ones in here. Oh, they still got these.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, decent, but keep in mind, bro. We just talking about ones. Look how many did you just saw on one specific cut of ones? Jordan's still making threes and fours and fives. It's the sixth anniversary. 11s come out every bro. Out of 40 models of shoes, you dropping one specific one, sometimes multiple in a month. Calm down. Like, look at this. A triple stack. Come on, that was still a thing. That's a waste of resources, brother. Like, you gotta fit families with that shit. Like, if I got laid off from Nike and I saw that come out the pipeline with actual money used to make it, I might burn the offices down for real. I might be like, fuck y'all. Cause y'all just play with me and my family. I do like these green ones that are coming out next week.

SPEAKER_05

This week. I like these.

SPEAKER_01

I could have picked you up a pair today.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, they're out.

SPEAKER_01

I got uh early access somewhere.

SPEAKER_05

I'll wait till they cheap. I do like these still. I was gonna pick these up, but I did not. I actually like those as well. But it's such an it's a cool neutral color, but again, I haven't been wearing like ones and stuff a lot or anything a lot anymore.

SPEAKER_01

It's not something you need.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

When you see it, it's not like I need it. Yeah, it's nice, but you know 40 bucks at the outlet for sure.

SPEAKER_05

I'll pick that up. I'll pick these up too. I like this shit. This these are just regular Jordan one lows. There's always a gem, like this colorway is super like clean. A lot of these are giving me Travis Lobs. Like, what what what's the purpose of these? Like you just put the band out, and this looks close enough to it, it's just a different color blocking, right?

SPEAKER_01

Especially because the band ones didn't sell out like wise that uh let's see what I feel like the materials are better on the band than that, though. Yeah, they are. They're definitely tumbled leather. Oh, you got the bins.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, when's the bins coming out? They're coming out this week, right? I want these.

SPEAKER_07

In the world where shoes at retail are 225 and then varying levels of quality. Sometimes you get a banger, sometimes you don't at GR. Who's asking for the Ben series to come? Like, who asked for that?

SPEAKER_01

No, and none of us are hitting on it, even if we want it.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, you gotta try. Yo, go for the 12 and a half.

SPEAKER_07

I did, and I get it all the time. I don't I don't want the shoe in my size, let alone in the size that's too big. Not a lot of threes left. It it would be that's a flip. Yeah, it's a flip. Oh, for sure.

SPEAKER_08

For the people who want to buy it, like, I'm sorry, it's just also I don't want elevated, yo, sophisticated wine, wine cork Jordans, bro.

SPEAKER_07

When I want to cut open, cut cut a cigar or pop a cork on wine, I'm not thinking Jordans, bro. This is the bike air. No, this is a Valentine's, but it's basically very similar.

SPEAKER_01

Same shoe.

SPEAKER_07

I thought that was the bikes. The bikes. Big brick after brick, the brick, then the brick after.

SPEAKER_05

I got a I got a kid size shooting instead of a size 12 and that shit. These are fire. Jordan's son of Mars, Lowe's. These are for men or children. Or you bumped your head on Mars. That might be a little kid's shoe, man. I like it though. Get your kids some white some M4s. The RMs are still a thing. Oh I still have to do that.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if I'd say they were a thing.

SPEAKER_05

They messed up by not making that Nigel Sig. Yo, the random slides that they put out, like these hydro, like who's paying $70 for these?

SPEAKER_07

Not $70, but those used to go crazy in Ola. It's the Jordan Slots. Boy. Bring these to the pool. Water sports is a crazy phrase, Sam, but I hear what you're saying.

SPEAKER_05

Like wait, swimming.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, swimming is what you shouldn't say. By the booth. By the booth.

SPEAKER_05

Water sports, yeah. The motor sports or the water. Nike skims. This the Nike has this way too much going on here. And I think like one of the biggest drawbacks is um they've gotten people so used to looking for retros that they are missing out on all this good stuff. So I remember going on Nike.com back at the end of the day. What is that?

SPEAKER_07

The Pepto Bismall pack?

SPEAKER_05

Oh no. They did this whole run of pink stuff and red stuff recently. It's weird.

SPEAKER_07

A lot of times they leftovers.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, there's a lot of pink and the red.

SPEAKER_07

All of those auditory only. We're on Nike.com being oh, yeah, we on Nike.com by all of the product that's just available.

SPEAKER_05

Yo, full size run of band ones. Full size. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_07

Crazy good. Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, not for the bottom line, but for people who didn't file. I love these things. They just got all reacts. I might go buy the rejuvenates for those listening. Juvenates, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Rejuvenates. Um precursor to the mind slides. When they start making mine slides left and right, they're gonna do the same thing the rejuvenate did.

SPEAKER_05

Coming soon. Who's getting them? I missed out on the mind. They just keep restocking in little batches. I still want these, these look so cool.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, so we're about to wrap the episode up now because H is randomly shopping. He's looking at big ass recovery boots and shit.

SPEAKER_05

Well, my the whole point of this little exercise is to show you guys that there are other types of sneakers out there, people, that you can look at that are pretty cool. The Sabrina 3s are pretty. Nike doesn't have a lot of inner, like this look retro running. Like nobody wants to retro run, nobody's really running in Vimero 5s.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I think the nomenclature is bad because retro runners still have a market. It's just no one's gonna be using them for running.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, they're good for walking.

SPEAKER_07

Like they're still like a thing. Like the Eddie Zeros went crazy, people are uh diving in the brooks, but it's just Nike's kind of like it's it's it's the curse of being the top dog. You gotta keep pushing product to the millions of people that buy from you, but man, some of this stuff definitely should have been. What the fuck is this? First off, I uh I remember getting a pair of 60 pluses as a like me and my pop went to the outlet. He saw them. I thought they looked pretty cool. They were like 40 bucks. I was kind of spoiled. My dad was like, You want them? Cop them. But like, yo, no one asked for the 60 plus to come back. I don't even think if you walked up to Michael Jordan post-NASCAR when he's shaking some ice down the kids' bag and drinking milk with uh howdy duty, whoever drives the car, and they're like, hey Mike, remember the 60 plus? He's gonna blow some cigar smoke on your face and be like, get the fuck on, bro.

SPEAKER_05

Yo, white metallics are still full full size one, pretty much.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, we if it's not a black or collab five, it's gonna sit, brother.

SPEAKER_05

What about these joints? The cap and gowns. Cap and gowns. Yeah, these are nice, dude. It's a six.

SPEAKER_01

Cap and gown was made out of that material. Yeah, and it's a six.

SPEAKER_05

People just don't step out for those. Oh, they had they had these in extended sizes. I totally would have bought it. This was uh this was a hood classic from back in the day, so I'm not should have got those. What is this? What is the spike spizikes? Yeah, spizikes. They have a market. They need to have a New York Neg final Spiz Ike PE. I might pick these up if they ever go on sale. You shouldn't. You ain't gonna wear them. I can't see wearing it. I don't wear them. I've never put an 11 on my feet ever. So oh, look at this. Dornbeckers are still here?

SPEAKER_01

They are not 16. Wow, big sizes.

SPEAKER_05

See, that's I thought this didn't this sell out on the uh when it came out.

SPEAKER_01

Initially, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that's still one of my top sneakers of the year. I don't care about nobody's up.

SPEAKER_05

I might get these.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I don't wear the I don't like the black shoes, man. I was come on, man. Just keep scrolling, bro. What are you saying? Why are we looking at the same shoe over and over again?

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I'm trying to see if there's anything new out there anyway. I look the point we need to do a lot of for this, but no. The point is that there's other stuff out there, people. Not just Nike, too. I have I don't know about you guys. I'm just still stuck on Nike since Yeezy went away, but I do have to start getting back on the New Balance website. Have you seen my content? Yo, I own it all.

SPEAKER_07

I'm gonna give it some free game for the people that I do watch your content, have nothing better to do and I'm still listening. Joe's New Balance Outlet. Joe's New Balance Outlet has the protection pack under retail. Shoes that were going for six, five hundred dollars on the aftermarket. Yeah, they got the OG colorways under retail.

SPEAKER_01

Joe's New Balance Outlet is in the Sokini's been putting out some good shit, man.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I want to try a Sokany one day. It's just weird because when I want to because I have so many shoes that I do want when I do step outside, I do want to wear something like hype or or like a unique dunk. Because those turn heads. Like if you're just walking around the Sakany, nobody gives a fuck. Turns heads to the old ladies that walk across the street from you. Bro, you get to a point with with these sneakers that like you know, they say if you're not wearing them. See, I can't, I'm not that dedicated to the game where I could walk outside. I like those by the way. Yeah. I low key them.

SPEAKER_07

I low key kind of hate them off the shrimp that Judge's left, and it was like, hey, how about we do a floral program? I'm like, yeah, yeah. I mean it's comfortable and easy to fit. Yeah, they definitely give Maui Wowie vibes in a good way. 420 Sakany's coming soon. They should do a skunk. That'd be dope.

SPEAKER_05

I just looked up protection pack, they don't have it on the website right now. Oh yeah, they do. Sorry. They have the 220 2002s, 2002s. There we go. Numbers are hard. Wait, was that the model that they put the protection back on? 2002 R. It's kind of funny. Wait, let me show you guys this.

SPEAKER_04

It's kind of dope. I got some good ones.

SPEAKER_07

Let me show you a website that you recommended to me.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Well, you said to go to the outlet, right? Joe's New Balance Outlet. That's NewBalance.com.

SPEAKER_05

Damn, they all most of them. That's a I like this green. That's kind of cool.

SPEAKER_01

It's not my favorite seller in New Balance.

SPEAKER_05

I remember, man, people went crazy for these, like the first run of these, and I ended up getting a couple of pairs. Man, I resold one pair for like $500, man. Shit's just and then I went back a few weeks.

SPEAKER_07

So as y'all can see, HS said following directions. So if y'all need that website again, it's Joe New Balance Outlet. The models 2002R, they got the protection package. Just look a protection pack, yeah. Because he, if you're looking at this visually for who's, you're gonna be square one.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, really. Well, yeah, I'm gonna step on my game. Like, if I'm gonna start spending money on shoes again, I gotta start looking at other stuff. Because back in the day, I used to get everything. Like to Drew's point, you know. Um, I just lost track because all the retro Nikes were, you know, just calling me, man. I got no, I'm getting out of my dunk phase. That's what they were building. I'm getting out of my dunk phase because a lot of people, and Drew, you might agree with this, they missed out. Like 2023-24, a lot of the basic dunks that came out were really nice colorways and quality, too. I don't think I've ever heard someone like that.

SPEAKER_01

No, they're not gonna be a good thing. Yeah, but they're SCORE. You're talking about SBs, you're talking about SBs, not not regular dunks. Okay, SBs. You gotta make that distinction. You mean non-LM SBs?

SPEAKER_05

I'm talking when the hype was over, these were the ones they drop them on sneakers. Like every week they had a new dunk that they came out on sneakers, right? And it wasn't like any storytelling dunks, just do dope colorways or retros, right? And um they ended up they don't retro SBs. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. They they would do a retro dunk, like a good colorway of a retro dunk. Like they did um, what was the one? What's the one that George likes so much on on Sneak Disc? I forgot the Curries. I got those for retail off the joint. Yeah, I was gonna gift it to him. I was gonna DM him because I have two pairs, and I was like, I was gonna gift it to him, but I was like, nah, hold on to these.

SPEAKER_07

Um I've been hearing rumors because it's in a milestone anniversary for SB next year that they're gonna be cooking with guys. Like new stuff? I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_05

I'm here for it if they do. Yeah, I'm with you. They retro that pigeon, I'm getting it.

SPEAKER_06

Alright, brother.

SPEAKER_05

I love the aesthetics. It's time to wrap up.

SPEAKER_01

That's the cue. I don't think you can end it on a better note.

SPEAKER_05

That's wonderful. Alright, guys, it's been another great episode. 54, baby. Appreciate you guys. 54? Is it 54? Yeah, 54. I'll try to get this up and running tonight. I still got clips to do from the last episode. Let's make it happen. The fans are about to be blessed with some content. Take you into your weekend. Yeah, everybody. Have a good weekend. See y'all. Happy Friday. Happy Friday. Yeah, it's dangerous. See y'all.

SPEAKER_00

Peace.
